Just live and let live. People shouldn't try to control other's lives.
You say that very nicelly, did you also consider people like pedofiles?
Thank you very much for the control we have and force upon people. That it may be wrong/retarded/outdated at certain points doesnt make it a bad thing, far from it.

This is running into the same result as the last thread on the same subject. Everyone is repeating their talking points withOUT listening to the other side. Keep this up, and this thread will receive the same fate as the last thread.

Yes, I had thought about the negativeness of "just let people do whatever they want" anarchy element.
Of course, I am referring to the more, finer things, that only effect that one person. i.e. If someone wants to be a homosexual, let them. If someone wants to be a muslim, or cathloic, or <insert religious belief here>, let them.
My point is about people trying to control how we live our lives, not in the respect of protecting themselves physically, but the abusive nature of mental "main stream" peer pressure.

Denying things will generally not be very productive, but it surelly should not mean you should just allow people to do as they please (without being hurtfull/disruptive to others) as people cant properly judge something they never experienced. Too much freedom can be more hurtfull than too many (decent) rules ever can, imo.
A dumb but fairly decent example. Would it be a bad thing to make a law that states you cant give people 'the finger'? Does it really hurt or disrupt any life if a finger is displayed? It doesnt. But making a rule about it means that if it becomes hurtfull/disruptive actions could be taken, within the law. Any decent person would not do such thing anyway, so it doesnt deny them anything, at most it gives them the luxury of a life wouthout receiving the finger.

I have quite literally never heard any argument against homosexuality other than "homosexuals are paedophiles", "homosexuality destroys family life" and "God says homosexuality is bad". The latter is more popular than either of the former.

Well clearly "Christian" Uganda seems to think that homosexuality is a worse crime than murder, so legally murdering homosexuals is the right thing to do. Obviously this couldn't be further removed from the teachings of Christ as most people understand them.
The age of reason has gone into reverse.
