Lol... still no answer. I guess only GSH can let me know for sure.

I may avoid the grenade though, the effect is barely noticeable

just tweak your weapons to shoot a bunch of grenades and one a bunch of bullets, bring up task manager on another monitor and check the cpu utililization as you switch between them

I might suggest using an actual profiler rather than winging it with task manger.

Any suggestions on that one? Worth a try I suppose. More curiosity than anything.

Just give taskmanager a go, if it shows clear spikes you can save yourself seeking, downloading, installing and learning how to use a new program.

Edit:
Example: Starting up Steam clearly needs a bit of umpf.

The problem is that that is computer specific. Starting Steam on my PC, even logging into my 1K+ games account is barely a blip on my 6 core hyper-threaded i7.

I understand where you're coming from, but if TJ goes ingame and tries both weapons and does see a big spike with one weapon and not the other, he doesnt need any other tool to know how it will hog resources in general.
If he wanted to compare exact data, or doesnt see any spike in TM, he would need an other, more precise, tool.
Iow, if he takes 30sec to test it the easy way he may not have to take the more time intensive route.

can also use the cpu-and-temp gadget on another screen. it's useful to have all the time.
