Understated, but yes. . .to limit religious fanatics from screwing with our interests, requires a bit of control of the area and situation.

Be nice if when making power vacuums we were at least there to fill the void rather than extremists.

Maybe if we dropped the scientologists on them, they would cancel each other out. If that didn't work we could try the jehova's witnesses. If that didn't work we could drop each and every American-made whackjob cult on them, one by one, until something worked.

Even if nothing worked, we'd end up cult-free here.

We've not been attacked and overrun in a very long time either. Last time England was invaded was almost 1000 years ago, and nobody's ever conquered the whole island.
