In many places you still need probable cause and a warrant to do that kind of thing.

Of course I've heard of it and I was 99% sure what was happening then. Didn't make it and less weird.
We actually had a drug dealer living 2 streets away from us for quiet a while. It was fairly obvious will all the motor bikes or sports cars that were parked out the front. When the police finally caught him we watched him run down the street being chased by a police dog. The dog was able to reach him and then took a bite out of his leg, then he was taken away. Now we don't have any drug dealers living near by.
