Instead of mire22_[1-4].wav, BZ2 looks first for a file under addon with the same name, but .ogg extension. That way, you don't have to decompress some of your very large files to get custom shell music.

It would probably be illegal for anything that doesn't come with BZ2.
So the Breaking Benjamin songs are illegal as well?

If you legally own some pieces of copyrighted music, it is possible to add them to your own local copy of BZ2 just fine. It's not legal to redistribute copyrighted works without the owner's permission. Copyright exists, and isn't to be worked around.

BZ2 allows you to drop in your own set of .ogg files and have them played during the game. But, BZ2 does not come with any .ogg files other than a conversion of what was originally on the BZ2 CD.

"Make your own music for the shell then. All you need is a music program that can open a variety of music formats and can convert to .wav (if the song isn't .wav already). Get your preferred song and using the program, export to .wav and rename the song. The name of the musics in the shell are mire22_1 (Login), mire22_2 (Main Menu), mire22_3 (singleplayer screen), and mire22_4 (Instant screen and Multi screen)."

And if you just dont like the shell music, delete the mire-songs from the sound folder, then it will come back to stock

Regard: Misunderstanding.

Its of course ill LE gal to use music, which is not made from you. ( Copy right)

But its allowed to use 10%, maximal 30 seconds of a sound.

Anyways, I uploaded a new design, which is not including any shell music.

Have Fun

Usually, but it's not always the case. The music at http://www.ocremix.org for example has written in their license "agreement" that you can use, distribute and perform the music provided you clearly cite them and don't stand to make a profit from it. Unfortunately, this is the exception rather than the rule.

So there's no music?
Can't you add some generic music like the kind in the multi and Instant?
Or is that part of Everybody dance now?

Any of us can add music to the shell, simply by dropping files, named as above, into addon.
He cannot distribute copyrighted music files. (without permission)
He can distribute un-copyrighted music files. (if he meets any conditions set)

Nice Shell.
Now since the music is gone, I really like it!
You should start making mods or variants.
