I beleive RD is simply alluding to the World Wars in which America did play a major role min helping the Entente/Allied powers, especially in the second one.

However Ahadley in that no one has conquered the whole island militarily, the English/ Scots simply did it by an intricate series of diplomatic maneuvers, which eventually ended up kind of screwing the Scots and Welsh. (And Irish, but that's another island.)

The Nazis never reached Britain. Britain was an Allied staging ground.

Using diplomacy like that doesn't really count as conquering, as far as I'm aware.. That's like saying the US conquered whichever the last country to be integrated as a state was.

I do think diplomacy can count as conquering. The commonwealth wouldn't have been as large as it was, nor speaking British English if it wasn't a conquest.
And yeah, let's count all those places the U.S. has 'adopted' as conquered.

Its pretty much were I was anyway...All respect to people's beliefs, but none whatsoever to organised Religions, all of them.

They all are. The whole problem with Religions is that they deliver specific set of stories and idea's and insist that you believe in them. Most of the reasoning and questioning required for a person to attain a true understanding is simply removed from the equation, "faith" replaces intelligent analysis and emotional understanding. 1000 years later they are so far removed from the original Idea and ethos that they are practically an institutionalised insanity. Some have an ethos of continual renewal that protects them from going too mad, others do not.

yes, sadly, even organized Christian religion has turned into that. men love to place themselves and ritual between you and God, so i'm not surprised that you and many others are revolted by it. i know i am. you don't need some clown in a fancy gold smock to talk to God.

It would be one thing to riot in front of oh. . .say. . .the house of the guy who made the video, or. . .oh. . .say in front of the production studio that produced the video, but in Sydney Australia!? The ONLY thing in common is aussies speak English.

I had little regard for the Islamic religion before this nonsense, giving it a small thread of the benefit of the doubt. Now I believe as many do, a dangerously high percentage of individuals in the religion have become a severe threat.
