They are a race of aliens indigenous to the planet Akaifa, where QF2 is taking place.

They don't live upon the surface, but deep beneath the ground.

They only come to the surface to fight against what they view as a QF Military invasion.

That is why they look so 'out of place'.

they looks good, but imo their wheels look ...idk ...out of place compared to the rest? perhaps overly simple? im not sure. Does kind of remind me of twisted metal though

A little secret: They are overly simple on purpose. The Wwerlna are a primitive race with bio-metal technology. Imagine the Roman Empire with bio-metal war machines. They still use wheels because they haven't invented anything more complicated. They haven't even discovered the hovering properties of bio-metal, so they use propellers to levitate their vehicles.

It's an awkward merger of a primitive culture with ultra-technology which came pretty much out of nowhere, with no opportunity for their culture to evolve at the same rate as their technology, unlike humanity.

P.S - I've never heard of 'twisted metal', so there's no chance of any plagiarism here.

Where have you been man? Not heard of Twisted Metal? What? XD Its a classic franchise first started on the Playstation, was real fun back then. Basically its a post-apocalyptic setting with vehicles and weapons in an all-out fight to the death. And no, the PS3 version IMO sucks, especially one mission which is just damn near impossible to win.

They also left out Minion (which is another classic character...)... and Calypso... but anyway, back to topic..

The textures look a little funny to me but they are unique. I notice all your textures have a high contrast, lots of dark and lots of light.

From what little I did read in this topic, the high contrast may actually make sense if this race is supposedly an underground race. And high contrast tends to help with that in low-light/dark conditions.

High contrast is prettier!

The Wwerlna have a 'thing' about colour. The more colourful, the higher the standing in society. The armed forces have the most colour below the religious leaders.

Their species has the ability to see more of the EM spectrum than humans, and so can appreciate colour much more than we can. That which looks purple to human eyes may look to them as a colour we cannot even imagine.
