if some insecure glory hound wants to take credit for what i did - or the ideas that others have come up with before that... and say, 'oh, i knew/know how to do that!', or whatever, that's just...sad.

Right because obviously it's unlikely for people to come up with generic AIPs independently because nobody has ever considered doing that before, therefore they must have stole your idea.

Second assertion, it's important to know who came up with/implemented the idea first. Because that really matters somehow.
