I've ordered my Wacom tablet and will soon be teaching myself digital art.

Ok, so how about weapons? Any ideas?
Personally I really like the firefly rocket from the swarm and think it would suit the Fae, so we could make something like it.

Perhaps a leaf blower type weapon that will blow your opponet away.

I came up with something called the "Operatics Mine". You place it and it emits several pulses of high frequency sound that shiver the surrounding ships to pieces. I imagined it looking something like a very small white water tower shape, but smoother and more elegant.

I got my tablet! I have done some sketching. Believe it or not the thing can play bz2 pretty well. In any case I'll try and do some textures and concept art soon, i just got to get the hang of it.

Here are a couple of assault units. They both are a little smaller than an Atilla walker.
I haven't come up with a name for this one yet, but the head acts like a gun spire orb.
This is what I call an Ogre.
Only the most advanced units will have the floating parts and as such will be available only after building a tech center type building. I'm going to add some guns to the Ogre.

Both look a little top-heavy.
I would suggest making them into a single unit.

The bottom one looks like the start of a pilot. Where the wings are the pack and the head is the head of the pilot.
The jetpack would basically rotate the upper wings about 90 degrees and then a 3rd wing would flap rapidly between both the current ones. Using a hold to use jetpack with forward velocity and hoverpack like settings would do well for such things. Using a recharging local ammo could be 'energy' to flap said wings. The actual flapping wings would be a rapidly moving effect ofc.

I do really rather want to keep them as vehicles, but I can try to model a pilots after that style. Once again I also prefer the pilots as spirits, but if the majority of the community disagrees I can make them physical.

Here is a high tech stealth unit called a Moth. Very simple.
Were you imagining something like this Ahadley?
Also, what if you could build both of the two earlier units then instruct them to "meld" into the unit above? Is this possible?

Again, this is your race. Don't constrain yourself to what other people want (leave that for the job market to do to you). If the majority of the community disagree, then obviously we don't know what effect you are going for and will learn a thing or two about themselves from experiencing it the way you intend. It's called designing

However, continue to read suggestions and reply to them. As many will have suggestions and some you may like. No one will be forcing you to do anything nor has anyone yet tried to do so...
HINT... HINT... I can read between the lines Zax, I can see what you are insinuating, bug off....

So lucky!
I am going to have my parents get me one of these for my birthday. It's the thing I want the most, ever.

I insinuate nothing. In fact, it was a BZ2 forum where I myself learned that you mod for yourself and nobody else. It is a creation of one's self and shouldn't go out of its way to please someone else. Releasing it to the public is at the discretion of the modder
Modding for other people turns it into a job and kills the fun.
As for the pilot, you will probably get responses from both sides. If such is the case, which would YOU prefer?

Ultimately, Clavin, the choice is up to you. All we can (and should) do is offer opinions. If you want your pilots as spirits because it fits in with the world you're creating, do it. Don't let anyone tell you that you're wrong.
