I very surprised even more crazy crap doesn't happen at those head-banger concerts. I suppose they'll have to start hiring stage bouncers.

Metal shows are generally well managed, especially on a large scale. Most people are either verterans of previous shows or know in some way what to expect. What happened was a tragedy that shoudn't have been, but in all fairness, you should know going to a show, especially a really heavy act like Lamb of God, that there is going to be violence, jump on stage at your own peril.
Also, to put it simply, its hot over here:

I'm in Raleigh NC, we've had 10 days of 100F+ with heat indexes hovering between 105-115F every afternoon.

I do hope you take the opportunity to make "snow" angels in the various molten metals.
I would.

GOP in Texas Bans Higher Order Thinking Skills.
All my conspiracy theories against the GOP have been confirmed. They want to make you dumb to exploit you.

If you actually read it its about getting indoctrination out of our schools, not critical thinking. The irony is that the Libs are the ones who benefit if you are an idiot because of all the welfare programs they champion.

It is, unfortunately, one of a politicians tasks to manage the infrastructure of education systems. What we should all come to understand is that is all they should do. "Political" interference in the substance of education should be considered a form of corruption or a crime.
Votes give them no knowledge or ability to be deciding how or what is taught. Teachers train all their lives to do what they do, they should be the one's who decide what is taught and how.
We have a similar problem here, not so much in the what is taught, but the how it is taught, constant political interference has damaged our education systems.
Some Unqualified Bullshit Artist makes a grand sounding speech, and the whole education system it turned upside down again just to please a bunch of half educated media victims. The schools and education system are in a state of constant change, just to earn votes for professional bullsh@ters, most of whom are undereducated themselves.
Political/Religious interference in education is for communists or fascists, it has no place in any nation that values freedom.

hey, if they can mold peoples' minds so that they vote for you, that's what they'll do

Slightly off-topic, but if you don't care about your knowledge enough to go enter higher education, you deserve to stay stupid. The good side of that is that stupid people do the jobs the clever people won't, because the clever people do the jobs the stupid people can't. The bad news is that there are so many stupid people that the world is beginning to revolve around them.
