Risky...It is clear from all the intelligence we have that, that "magic kingdoms" are quite capable of vanishing into "netherworlds" or other surreal dimensions in times of dire need, you could just end up making a big crater in a completely ordinary piece of real estate, while the fairy folk go on an-other world tour.
Infiltration and subversion tactics would probably stand a higher chance of success. An elite unit of "adult" stand up comedians backed up by a large contingent of failed porn stars under a command structure of corrupt politicians and substance abusing financiers is really the only way to go.

The only political football, should be what makes people do things like that, gotta have a lot of hatred bottled up to go take it out on a bunch of people you don't even know, this one makes even less sense than the school massacres. Arguing about weapons control is pointless, the US passed the point where "control" is possible a long time ago. Of course it is possible to detect weapons (most guns) you could put up automated "drone" sentry's at the entrances to public places, and simply blow away anyone who comes in carrying. Seems quite reasonable under the circumstances. Glad I don't live there.
