The point was that, if enough people say they believe in it, it is considered a religion. There was actually an organised effort to have people put down "jedi" a few years ago to prove it, enough to force the government to include it as an option on the census. Since it's been there most of the countries agnostics, atheists, antitheists and apathists have chosen it.
