Look how the idiot just drives over the kid with his rearwheels after he clearly noticed he hit something. Than nobody feels the need to help the kid.
You can probably find a newsacticle about it yourself.

It may be the result of insane crowding in some areas of China. Not sure, but yes, it's a slap in the face to humanity.

In many palaces around the world, poverty, hunger, starvation and oppression make life cheap. This isn't shocking or unusual , its normal...If you think its a slap in the face for humanity, then you need a slap to wake you up. Go have a look around somewhere else other than your own comfortable rich part of the world. Life is cheap, deaths even cheaper and if you think humanity has risen much above the state of vermin, then you are just wrong.

2Sheds, it is shocking to me. I believe humans can be the intelligent race they claim to be. There are animals that treat each other better than we often do though and I find that rather disturbing.
Accepting that there are a lot of people around that give crap about others and lining up with them wont make this bubble a better place either.

I too would like this to be a better place, but I recognise that the forces that make it what it is, are now quite beyond our control.
Relativity determines the extremes of wealth and the numbers of the poor and only the destruction of the fake value system and the civilisation it supports could alter our trajectory. Humans are not the victims here. Many of the other species we share this world with are being destroyed by it and after them it will be our turn too. Humanity is unwilling to deal with the issue while they can still grab more than their fair share of the fat. Natural selection will have its way, it always does.

put enough rats in a box and they'll soon eat each other.

Supply and demand applies to human beings too, as reluctant as anybody is to admit it. Every life added devalues the existing lives.
Just wait 40 years until there are 14 billion people, and see how we treat each other then.

I still like to believe that is all up to the individual. In WW2 people here had times they had nothing to eat, and that nothing got shared by a lot of people ...

Wars are a leveller, only then do people start to recognise real value. Generosity can flourish in the most deprived places and wealth does indeed cause greed and selfishness to prosper.
My country is in a bad way, the super rich are gorging themselves while the rest of us grow ever poorer. A levelling will soon be needed, my guess is this summers riots were just a practice run for what is to come.
