SOPA: wrong thing to do

This is a short bit from your forum administrator getting on his soapbox. There's a bill before the US Congress, 'SOPA' that attempts to reduce online piracy of content, but does so in a draconian fashion. I do not approve of software piracy, as it really hurts more marginal developers and game genres like BZ2's FPS+RTS. However, the proposed actions are a cure worse than the disease.

Those of you seeking websites going dark, try http://www.zachstronaut.com/lab/text-sh ... -sopa.html. That points to http://americancensorship.org/ for more info and action steps one can take, whether an American citizen or not.

Glad to see that so many people are stepping up against such an unjust law that could destroy the freedom of the internet as we know it.

From what I understand SOPA has been shelved "indefinitely" but PIPA is still up on the block.
That, too, should be quashed.
