Mission 19: An unlikely rescue trigger fail

Hi

I am playing the single player scion missions and I get to this mission. I blow up the bridge and all the enemy forces as ordered and nothing happens. I'm supposed to get new orders from what I've read. Instead after awhile the enemy attacks the AAN and the recycler miraculously 'blows up.' Also I can't approach it either as it blows up as well.

None of the cheats like ai.winmission or game.cheat editor work.

I would post the save game files except I do not see any options for attachments.

game.cheat bzwinner replaces ai.winmission. The editor command has never worked in 1.3 as it was abused in multiplayer; there is a seperate executable for editor functions.

This issue is known and there is a workaround, but you'll have to wait for someone else because I can't remember it.

You have to stop them destroying the aan recycler, you don't have allot of time, minimal defence for your own recy, destroy the bridge, get titans maulers to the aan base asap to intercept the walkers/assault tanks

The problem with this is that I turned the unlimited resources cheat on and poured units into the AAN base. I then watched as my units eradicated the tanks. Nothing fired a shot at the recycler. It was at full health and then it just blew up.

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. Unfortunately, the only thing that worked for me was game.cheat bzwinner. It's basically the end of the mission anyway.

Singleplayer is still best in 1.2. Once multiplayer has been nailed down...

the rec automatically gets nuked if you take too long or get there too early.

I literally played this mission 20 times in this PB, and only got it to work once.
The timing somehow has to be spot on or the sabres from the AAN-base will nuke the bridge and the mission will no longer progress.
Personally I forget about building spires, upgrade 2 pools, spew out a few turrets and build my base asap to get to maulers. By that time I get told to go to bridge, which I do, in my warrior, while building a mauler to support me when its been build. That seems to work, sometimes ..

I very much disagree with you there. The only mission that seems to fail on me is this one, and pretty much everyting else works better. Even if only the slightly more capable AI is the only thing improved, for me, it still means the missions are a wee bit more fun in 1.3.

Maybe some DLL wizards could take a look at tweaking that script. Hint, hint. :)

Do not go to their base until you are explicitly ordered, or it will nuke itself every time. This existed in 1.2 as well if you read the planetbattlezone strategy guide.

the trigger is 200 meters from just west of the AAN power generators, so if you keep a distance greater than that from them, you should be okay.

Is there any source available for the SP-missions? I wouldnt even mind going through the SP-campaign and tweak it to be a bit more 'intense', but my mana is weak so I would need to be put on the right track ... :)

Poke around the main BZ2 1.3.6.2 download site. Difficulty mods aren't likely to be redistributed as part of any possible 1.3 public betas. Only gamebreakers like this thread.

I know the page, as well as that it doesnt contain any SP-source :)

Didnt even think about it getting included in the next PB, but you make a good point.

RD, are you going somewhere with this? Or do I need to annoy GSH a bit more for a specific missions source :D
