Parallels to the Fallout storyline...

A while back, GSH linked us to a free download of the first Fallout game that instantly hooked me onto the series. I've also noticed a few similarities between the two storylines concerning the Scions and the Super Mutants...
-The Master in Fallout was a horribly mutated human being that brought about the idea of the Unity, which was to capture and convert all uncontaminated humans into enhanced Super Mutants by dipping them in vats of the Forced Evolutionary Virus, which, of course, was formulated by human hands in the hopes of developing the perfect human.
-Padishah Frank Burns of the Scions was the first of his kind to become fused with biometal in the hopes of creating a superhuman being, which opened his eyes to its true properties, and so he wanted to reintroduce the Cthonian culture to Earth, which may or may not have involved fusion to biometal. However, after seeing the death backdrop for the Scion campaign, it appears that Scions are made by "dipping" in biometal pools.
What do you all think?
