Upgrading Buildings

Can you apply them to all buildings? How many times can you upgrade a building? What sorts of files are required? Can you do it without a constructor?

Upgrading is done entirely by ODF, and all the code lines required are stored within the ODF of the building to be upgraded. Take a look at fbkiln for an ideal example. Upgrade changes can be of an unlimited length, but need a constructor to perform the upgrade.Clavin12 wrote:Can you apply them to all buildings? How many times can you upgrade a building? why?MrTwosheds wrote:Upgrading a recycler is not a good idea.
Been fixed a while now.Clavin12 wrote:May well make you lose the game.
Speaking of which that gives me an idea but it would and maybe could be made into a rec variant. Lets say you upgrade it and it builds 2x fasterGeneral BlackDragon wrote:Well, ASSSUMING it upgrades into another recycler of some type. (vehicle or building)
That would require a lot of ODFs.ADMIRAL MANSON wrote:Speaking of which that gives me an idea but it would and maybe could be made into a rec variant. that only needs 1 new ODF and then changes to stock build times saved with differnt names anding _whatever to the end would work fine.AHadley wrote:That would require a lot of ODFs.ADMIRAL MANSON wrote:Speaking of which that gives me an idea but it would and maybe could be made into a rec variant.
