Hi,
Whatever happened to the UEP? What would it take to get it released?
Thanks,
Clavin12

Neither NK1 or myself have any free time at the moment. We'll get around to it.

I bug Nielk1 once in a while about it, but like AH said, he's been pretty busy with his job and other things lately. And as far as I'm aware, there's nothing really new to test out since I last checked.

This is probably the fifth time this topic has been up and as I have said before: I've lost interest.

Ah this thread again
Honestly, Im having a break from BZ2 in general. I don't really get much of a kick out of modding it anymore and want to step into something new. I've got loads of ideas and whatnot, but none are ever going to become a reality. Serenesis mod for example is just a collection of assets from me messing around with ODFs and that. It would take forever to turn that mod into a releasable thing.
I've lost motivation with the UEP. I WANT to get it out but meh, release is still so far away, and I'm totally lost as to where I am. If i'd started again I'd have released something much smaller and built on it. I'd like to do that now, at least it would get some attention. But it can't really be done.
I dunno, I've lost interest in modding and playing atm, I hang around the boards here and there but some might notice my dwindling post count...

The UEP's "release" would not be "still so far away" if you worked on it...

I'm bored of it, and I have no idea where to pick up on it again. All the assets are split into so many sub-folders right now its a challenge to even find anything let alone work on it.

On the bright side, Duke Nukem Forever came out, so there IS HOPE.

For a start, that's the console version. The PC one looks prettier.
Bear in mind that most of this may not be down to Gearbox. Gearbox now own the IP to Duke Nukem, but felt they had to finish and release Forever in order to get things going again. In other words, how much of this was made by 3D Realms?
The singleplayer campaign, for a start

I read somewhere that just about all of the design decisions were 3dRealm's doing, so it's them to blame and not gearbox.
