RIP John McCarthy

Seems like the 'hat trick' is complete. (Some have noted that in Hollywood, famous people sometimes die in clusters of three.) John McCarthy, father of the Lisp programming language, has passed on.
I've never personally liked the Lisp language (or its variants), but it has certainly been influential. Lisp is one of the oldest programming languages still in use today (Fortran is the other), and its core hasn't changed much in the decades.
