New FFA Alliance code test:

Post by General BlackDragon »

I created new FFA Alliance code.

This needs testing with 10-14 players, so please test. Give all bugs/feedback here.

Try to test with 14 players. New code should allow you to ally in any way you like, 2v2v2v2v2v2v2, or 13v1. :P

Testing Time: Wed-Fri 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm CST

Installation Instructions:

Download and unzip to BZ2 1.3 pb6.2 root directory.

NOTE: This can only be played with others who have the same files!

To toggle this off, go to your addon/missions/ folder and rename "strategy02.dll" something else.

To uninstall, go into your addon/missions folder and simply delete the new folder and strategy02.dll there. (If you don't have anything else in missions folder under addon you can delete the whole missions folder)

Well I am willing to help, but I am not going to spend days hosting a server that the few players about cannot join...
Propose a time and date.

Also evaluate the concept since the thought of GBD code getting into 1.3 proper terrifies me so that I might recode.

Game is up! Come play!

@N1: Your not recoding it, there's nothing for you to change. The code is simple, and works.

Testers coding...great, but you should know better than to use terms like "simple" and "works" :)

we'll try to give it some hard testing, Its a nice tweak, I would like to see it go into the game.

My main concern is that GBD didn't quite get the logistics of how the DLL works per player and has only a little idea of direct memory control in C++.

Well he has a better idea than I do.
I am wondering how difficult it would be to set up ffa in pairs, eg 1 commander +1 thug x 7 recy's 0r 1 com + 2 thugs x 4 recys
