Virgin Gaming?

I was surprised to see Sir Richard Branson getting in on the act.

was able to fix bf3 not launching by adding exceptions for java.exe and javaw.exe to my firewall's exception list.

ran fine and looked fine on ultra settings.

good storyline, nice rocking from explosions and bullet hits.

The singpleplayer campign can be summed up in this one phrase, "Why are all the characters I don't know dying? D:"

No, war is everyone dying even if you do know them.

well, i'm not saying that that is the de facto standard definition of war, but merely that that is part of war. a subtle - but important! - difference. otherwise, we would have people going around arguing that some wars were not actually wars because someone they knew did not die or that someone they knew did die, and so on and so forth.

i am very impressed with BF3. true, some things are still being tweaked, but the overall experience is very favorable.

some players from BF2 and BC2 are experiencing some difficulties transitioning to it, but they eventually get it.

i almost bought MW3 due to the hype, but then found out they do not have any vehicles - it's all run-and-gun infantry.

Code: Select all

BF3 MW3
===                     ====

knives knives
pistols pistols
shotguns shotguns
rifles rifles
machineguns machineguns
Jeeps
VD1V Buggy
Growlers
Vodniks
Humvees
M1 Abrams
T-90
LAV-AD
LAV-25
BMP
Tunguska
AH-1Z Viper
MI-28 Havoc
UH-1y Venom
F/A-18

I gave up on BF3 rather fast. Hell, same can be said for BC2. Sure, gameplay was alright in BF3, but good god, I swear the story could be identical to BC2 if you change a few facts around.

This is why I don't care for gaming anymore. Little story, and all you're paying that $60 for is multiplayer, that's it. I don't buy games just for the sole purpose of playing multiplayer. No, I buy for storyline. BF3, and just about any other Battlefield that had a story is crap to me. BF3 got off my system soon as I was done with it. Not even worth $15 IMO currently. (I don't feel like mentioning that amount of crashes I had to contend with, oh.. and don't get me started on missions that would almost always fail at a certain point..)

the developers/publishers make the game with the main focus on multiplayer and the vast majority of players buy it for the multiplayer aspect (which is awesome) so spending $60 for a few SP missions isn't going to be very cost-effective. there is a Co-Op mode in which you can play SP with others.
