3ds max exporter

Post by Clavin12 »

I got 3ds max 2012. Is there an exporter that will work well with it and bz2?

I saw one on dummyworld for 2010 and am trying it. Perhaps I should have done so before posting.

EDIT: Nope, don't work.

Be nice if dummy had the source code for it, then we could try to keep it up to date for higher versions of max rather then pestering him as was done to get us one for 2010.

Try using it anyway but be sure you run the 32 bit version of Max. Some installations will give you both a 64 and 32 bit shortcut.

It appears that I cannot run it in 32 bit.

Not possible. Any program that's 32-bit or higher will run on a 64-bit computer. You just can't do 16 or lower.

It might be it never gave him the option VSMIT.

Try reinstalling if this is the case and check through the options.

Stupidly I deleted the installer, and will have to redownload. Before I do so, what is the highest version of xsi that bz2 will work with?

Not sure but the answer is pretty damn low a version.

Unless you get a special plugin fit for an archaic XSI it won't work.

Downloaded and tried to install twice. Each times the file is corrupted. Am downloading a third time. If this fails I will try another method.

EDIT: Got it. Now I can use the 2010 version.

Which programmer here is willing to keep the xsi exporter up to date?
I gave the code to dummy and OM if they aren't going to keep it going i'll give it to another programmer who will.

I can guarantee nothing. I still have to make a max script to output vertex animation bones (that would be pasted to the end of an XSI).
