Re: Interesting article thread
?
Yes. But what's that got to do with making ridiculously fast unmanned military aircraft?
The 1st goal should be to get into orbit(and preferably down again) in a low cost, safe and reliable manner. Once we get that little problem sorted the rest is mostly straight forward engineering and a few biological problems.
Heh this is as far as we get these days.

Oh good. A new, ultra expensive weapon capable of killing the government's enemies before they know they've been hit. Because none of the other weapon systems can do that.
Re: Interesting article thread
You guys do know that not EVERYTHING DARPA does is about weapons. Sure, sometimes its a justification, but some of this stuff isn't even militarily practical, they just said it was so they could do it.APCs r Evil wrote:Oh good. Re: Interesting article thread
Did occur to me that the asteroid mining plan might be a bit problematic, seems they want to put them orbit to do the mining, 1 little push in the wrong direction and you've got an instant WMD... I guess they will just have to declare space as American property and threaten any other nations/companys who might want to mine asteroids too.
