Why does the mouse lag so bad when youre out of the ship ?

Is it because of my PC or is this how the game is ? Do the patches fix this ? When im in the ship my mouse works just fine, no lag at all, when when i jump out of the ship the mouse lags for a full 1 second before responding to any move-command (shooting is instant though).

If you play 1.2 with updated graphics drivers this is pretty much the norm. (It at least is for me and a few others.)
Rolling back to older graphics drivers may work if you want to play 1.2, however Nvidia no longer keeps really old drivers available (incase you have a Nvidia card). I have some in back-up though, if you like to try some just send me a PM.

Either way, I'd suggest playing 1.3, unless you have some urge to play with 1.2's physics. In pretty much every respect its an improved game.

thanks for your reply ; i was mostly interested in the cause of the lag, i wasnt really planning on fixing it cause it doesnt bother me that much ; so youre saying you dont have the mouse lag when you`re out of the ship ?

No, I am saying I assumed you're playing 1.2 and there is can happen when using up-to-date drivers. It doesnt happen to me as I pretty much stick to 1.3 nowdays.
(When I launch 1.2 with my current drivers it simply doesnt give me more than 20-30-ish FPS and pretty much everything is sluggish.)

Can you confirm wether you're playing 1.2 or 1.3?

It seem that BZII regardless of version can be quite buggy. Even gameplay on a LAN can be quite laggy as I recall.

Never had mouse lag problems in 1.2 with any of the 5 or so PC configurations i've used with it.

I recall having some mouse lag problems in 1.3 due partially to low FPS which caused some hits to overall mouse responsiveness but that as resolved by turning off triple buffering. Triple buffering should not cause noticable sluggishness with medium or high spec machines but it can cause sluggishness some of the time which becomes more pronounced on low spec computers.
