Say somebody is found to somehow be in possession of material that could cure cancer. Is this person free to say that he/she will not allow any material to be used to facilitate this cure? Should this person be free to say so?
It is theirs, however, they better be prepared for legal gymnastics. And laws on the books, which I don't agree with, would allow the US gov to just take it.
And there you go. What is more wrong? Somebody being able to say he/she will not help facilitate a cure for [x], or a government that can simply use your body without consent and even stay within the boundries of the law?
I dont believe somebody should readily be allowed to say no when their genetic material could save even 'just' hundreds. However I sure as h*ll am against any government that doesnt at the very least allow a choice along the line of 'comply or go to jail'.

Guess we'll never know what he had to say.

...assuming it was him in that cabin they torched.

Probably how its going to happen, one day.
If something airborn and aggressive gets out in a large city its probably just a countdown, hoping it never hits '0'..

Linked from article above.
The average American eats 35 pounds of high-fructose corn syrup per year, a hazardous ingredient that recent research has linked to a significant decrease in brain function related to both memory and learning. The researchers even go on to say that the ubiquitous substance can make you ‘stupid’. Considering that high fructose corn syrup is present in over 90% of processed food items like sodas and candy, enough so to make up the 35 pound annual figure, it is easy to see that the average American diet is made up of enough HFCS to seriously impact mental capabilities.
I had always assumed the cause and effect was the other way round...that is was being stupid that made people eat that stuff.

Could be a feedback loop... that would explain why the stupid appears to be accelerating.
