1.2 works best on XP. If you have another computer that runs that, try there instead.

Re: Problems with the keyboard input (Win7)
Already tried it on a PC with XP. Installing of the 1.0 basic version from my original game CD works fine, but the game itself won't run afterwards. On starting it, the game always tells me I should insert my Battlezone CD, although it IS already inserted all the time. Even if I open and close the respective CD slot once again, this doesn't make a difference. This error only occurs on my PC with XP. On my vista PC, the CD version runs totally fine. I really don't know whats wrong.

Re: Problems with the keyboard input (Win7)
I've never had an issue with Windows 7 and BZ2, besides having to go into the BIOS and change the F-key functions. So I'm not sure what your issue is, 1.2 and FE run just fine on my laptop (which runs Windows 7).

@ Darkcobra: I use windows vista, not windows 7. Maybe ther's a difference, I do not know. As I said, I am not a technically well informed person regarding BZ 2 mod installing etc.

Ah, then perhaps. My old laptop used to run Windows Vista, not sure if I had installed FE and 1.2 on it though...Cerberus wrote:@ Darkcobra: I use windows vista, not windows 7. Re: Problems with the keyboard input (Win7)
I would advise for 1.0-1.2 installing the 'no-cd crack' after patching up to your desired version. Currently it's the only way to avoid faulty CD detection and is safe to use. (note: files must be put in the bz2 folder and the utility should be run from there)Cerberus wrote:Already tried it on a PC with XP. Re: Problems with the keyboard input (Win7)
I believe my brother's old computer had an infrared device that prevented ~ from working in bz2. Uninstalling said device, via device manager, resolved the issue until the computer was rebooted. Once rebooted, the device would reinstall. That machine has since been decommissioned so I couldn't tell you what hardware category the device fell under or the exact name of the device.

Yea an IR device would not be listed under ATI/AMD
It is normally under HID, which is odd considering no human would interact with an IR sensor.

Pics or it didn't happen.Red Devil wrote:funny, it was...
Furthermore, if it did, I weep for what you did to your computer to mess it up that badly.

Re: Problems with the keyboard input (Win7)
yes, plugging it into it and installing the drivers like the others did...
and, yes, it did happen.
and, yes, removing it and disabling it fixed it.
but you, who knows all, knew that already.

Re: Problems with the keyboard input (Win7)
I was referring to it being under AMD/ATI, but you knew that and instead wanted to say something else. Of course, since the device can't be physically removed a single reboot will show it pop back up in the list, so you can go right ahead and show us, under AMD/ATI.Red Devil wrote:yes, plugging it into it and installing the drivers like the others did...
