Alright, one last thing about Warp jumping this time supported by terrible math!
An AU is roughly 92 million miles.
Let's take the Attila. This warship wants to jump from the orbit of the sun to Jupiter. The speed of light in the univere is 186,000 miles per second.
The distance from the sun to Jupitor is 816 million miles. It takes light 43 minutes to hit Jupiter, 8 to hit earth.
The Attila makes a hyperspace jump. It defines the speed of light in the ship to be 5 miles per second in hyperspace. It is traveling 3000 miles per second. This is 600 times faster than light if 186000=5 m/s. Thus, the ship is going a speed of 111,600,000 miles per second.
At this speed, it is estimated, at least by my calculations to cross 8 AU's in about 7 seconds by dividing the distance from the sun by the speed you are going. 3000 miles per second is also standard ESEDF speed, top speed is about 8,500.
The Attila is now deployed and ready to bring hell to Europan Insurrectionists!
Edit:
Now, the Treasconi war is close to Sirius, which is 5.16 E13 miles away from Earth.
So, if you are going at top speed, 8500 miles per second, You are going 316,200,000 miles per second. Sirius is 8.6 Light Years away. In Hyperspace, your going 316 million miles per second, 1700 times faster than light. In real space, you are actually going 11,775,520,000,000,000,000 miles per second!
The distance from here to the Treasconi system is roughly 8 Light Years, which equals, multiplied by 6 trillion, 5.16 E13 miles away. By going 316 million miles per second in Hyperspace, you could reach the system in about, by my calculations, 2 seconds!
You actually might be able to rationalize all that number juggling by using tachyons. In the sense they are purely theoretical, but respectfully theorized. So you might be able to suggest tachyons offer some kind of logarithmic reverse 'dilation' effect when moving through your altered space at different "energies".
Are you using hyperspace or just the term to describe your space bubble?
And light speed that stays within normal space (the bubble method, not the 'hyperspace' method) would be slightly more dangerous near a gravity well.
But do whatever you want, like I said. I just want to help you solidify your concept rather than say it is good or bad. A solid base is ever helpful after all.
So what is it, hyperspace, or a bubble of normal space?
I am using hyperspace, but in hyperspace, you are the onloy object of regular space, so your physics can be altered to whatever you want them to be. So in essence, youa re a bubble in hyperspace.
Iron Maiden wrote:I am using hyperspace, but in hyperspace, you are the onloy object of regular space, so your physics can be altered to whatever you want them to be. So in essence, youa re a bubble in hyperspace.
Had not thought of that, interesting.
If you take space out of where you start from and bring it to your destination, I can see side effects. Double layering of space at the destination, gaps of missing space at the place of leaving. Things no one thought of except for the non-scientists who say something like that after hearing a brief and the scientists say "You just don't understand how the fabric of space-time works." And next thing you know everyone is limited to warp factor 5 [ST TNG:Threshold] or they risk tearing space a new subspace but-hole.
Yes, but if your are the only object and you still end up in space, would it still have adverse effects? You still end up in space anyway, so does it matter? the continum still knows where you are, you are just beyond it and thus temporarily not within the continum.
Also, heres the beginning of the overview of the war, enjoy. Also, feedback wanted concerning the perigrine bomb and the planetary orbits, as even I think it is a little......impossible. And have luck with teh names, even I can;t pronounce them right!
Overview of the Treasconi War:
The Treasconi war is widely regarded as one of the greatest conflicts in human history, and a defining moment for the Federation and mankind. From 2049 to 2056, nearly seven years were taken up in massive conflict that outshines all others in human history. During this time, mass political upheaval as well as untold unity would bring humanity closer together as a species and towards the expansion of earth.
The two sides are the ESEDF, the military arm of the Federation, and the Treasconi Empire. In 2049, the Federation is the dominant force on Earth and the solar system. Its powerful economy and military might coupled with sheer size make it the largest single sovereign in human history. The Federation’s interest of voyages to other systems would be indirectly the cause of the war.
The Treasconi Empire dominates what is to be known as the Treasconi star system. It is a binary star system with two white dwarf planets. Surprisingly, these two stars revolve around a large planet in the middle, which follows the revolution of the larger star, causing a strange tidal effect and very bizarre orbits. It is inhabited by the Treasconi, a humanoid people about 6 feet tall on average with a glossy, yet tough brown skin similar to beetle shells. This skin is soft at birth but hardens with maturity. The Treasconi are a people with a culture based around loyalty, bravery, and a certain degree of conformity but in holding ones individuality. Since their arrival in the system 3,000 years ago as refugees on primitive form of spaceships after a ferocious war with a people in Alpha Centauri, they rapidly multiplied, as Treasconi semen are highly virulent and the Treasconi body is capable of adaptations to wider degree of temperatures and conditions than humans. The Treasconi are ruled by a single emperor who rules from the city of K’hanali Mu’rael on the planet of Mutakaela, known by humans as Elysium for its incredible beauty. For 200 years, the Munt’hala family has held the thrown. The current emperor is Kasiquanzi. He is a tyrannical and ruthless dictator in many ways similar to a Joseph Stalin or Adolf Hitler. This is exemplified in his genocidal acts against the Turimurinto people, a form of Treasconi people that Kasiquanzi has traced back to an ethnic group in Alpha Centauri and blames them for their driving from the system 3 millennia ago. He has ordered the destruction of all Turimurinto people as retribution for the loss of the original Treasconi homeland. The Treasconi population before the War is 5 billion, including 290,000 Turimurinto free people and another 470,000 in concentration and death camps. 2 years before the war, a rebel group has declared war on the emperor calling for more logical and peaceful judgment and an end to the persecution to the Turimurinto people. The faction acts a form of Guerilla group against the Treasconi imperial forces, who themselves act in a manner similar to skirmishers and do not like frontal assault type combat. This leads to a kind of stalemate as neither side confronts each other openly.
The war starts when Treasconi forces attack the Dido base on Ectoclopsys, the EF research station on the new system, who are completely unaware to the Treasconi presence to master cloaking devices and radar jamming. The attack on June 6th destroys the base and causes the Hudson to withdraw back to the Sol system, where it reports attack. The EF high council sends the 2nd and 3rd fleets to investigate under Admiral Samuel Jacobs. The night of the jump, Admiral Chu dies of a heart attack and Colonel Boreskov is placed in command of the 2nd fleet, with Jacobs still in control of the operation.
On June 7th, the first official contact is made with the Treasconi army as forces land of Ectoclopsys. Fighting for the planet will last until December of the following year until the Treasconi army can be pacified and neutralized, followed by social and political challenges that prove detrimental to the campaign. During this part of the war, support is large but challenged. Opponents claim there is no effort to make peace, though several were made involving a meet with the emperor’s aide himself. However, the emperor’s belief in glory leads him to continue the war. Yet during the start of the conflict, humanity is brought together against a common enemy for the first time, which will be a recurring theme through the war, though more and more people will become divided in the years to come.
Ectoclopsys, being mostly desert, poses a unique threat the ESEDF, thirst. Until General Wladyslaw’s offensive to the Lateli Sea in January of 2050, the ESEDF had practically little access to fresh water. While they posses many rivers, they are poisoned by Imperial forces with arsenic, hoping to weaken to ESEDF lines. Also, the Treasconi inhabitance of the planet gives them the natural home field advantage and the ability to lay ambushes and blockades. Also, though small, a naval force is present to further harass the ESEDF forces, particularly as they get out to sea, though a series of coordinated airstrikes deals the navy crippling blows, near completely destroying it.
The Treasconi military’s Guerilla tactics are useful against the ESEDF’s forces. The ESEDF uses plasma weaponry, has shields, and tough infantry armor known as Nemean skin. The Treasconi do not have shields and still use weapons that fire solid, metal projectiles, like guns before the advent of plasma weaponry. This puts them at a serious disadvantage at head to head combat. They thus use their superior transport, jamming, and, at least for a while, space superiority to defeat ESEDF forces in battle. However, following the disastrous defeats during the push to reclaim Ectoclopsys and push back the ESEDF during the beginning of the Octoclopsys invasion, the ESEDF manages to take superiority in space and eventually the air.
The battle for Ectoclopsys is just the beginning of the war. Estimated casualties are 14,000 on the ESEDF side, 21,000 Treasconi, including civilian casualties. The Treasconi army is defeated finally on November 15th of 2050, after a long siege of the main base in a canyon system known as the oculus, for its complexity and wide round plain in the center, similar to an eye, where the Treasconi army on the planet operates out of. The base is finally destroyed by a covert operation by sneaking a captured Treasconi tank in through a captured dropship. The tank is carrying a peregrine bomb.
A peregrine bomb is a special nuke developed in 2041 as a means of keeping rebellion and unrest on Earth and abroad to a minimum. It works through a nuclear fusion of hydrogen and anti-hydrogen in a nuclear format. The resulting explosion is capable of neutralizing the radiation from the plutonium and creates a blast that channels itself down natural land formations. This results in the complete destruction of the base and its outlying outposts who kept ESEDF assault forces at bay. The end result is the surrender of many Treasconi forces on planet, though many others continue their strikes, requiring a force to be left behind on the planet to hunt them down as the ESEDF moves onto to next planet, Octoclopsys.
Octoclopsys is the largest planet in the system. It is roughly 9 times the size of Earth and has a strong gravitational effect on the two suns, causing the planet to spin constantly and giving birth to massive tides and near constant daylight, similar to the situation on Ectoclopsys. The planet gets its name from the various massive canyons that scar its surface, the greatest of which reaches a depth of 1 ½ miles at some points and a width of 6 miles. These canyons prove treacherous for ESEDF forces, allowing for a manner of warfare similar to that in the oculus on Ectoclopsys. Also, the planet is home too much of the Treasconi military and a large number of civilian populations. The mass of soldiers and readiness of defenses makes obtaining a foothold difficult the large seas also allow the Treasconi navy to harass the landing parties for the better part of the first two months of combat before most ships are destroyed by airstrikes. The fighting on the planet is the longest of the war, lasting from January of 2051 to the same time in 2053, and even then the Imperial forces continue to operate strongly, but are confined to small canyons by air strikes and elimination teams.
The conflict sees the loss of Treasconi space dominance. After a ferocious battle during the initial jump to the planet, the ESEDF, while suffering high casualties, destroys 3 Treasconi fleets and damages severely 3 others, a full 6th of Treasconi space power destroyed. However, the Treasconi’s strong production capabilities allow for a constant production of new ships, though the crews are nowhere near to par with the experienced ones of the standing fleets. However, the ESEDF suffers highly in the battle to, and Admiral Jacobs calls for the 1st fleet to join the 2nd and 3rd to join them to aid in the battle, as the space fighting above Octoclopsys will be some of the toughest of the war, rivaled only by the battles o Astantisis, during which over 10,000 casualties will be taken by both sides during space battles alone.
Ground fighting is difficult. Well built and managed defensive positions force ESEDF soldiers to maneuver slowly, requiring preliminary airstrikes before hitting almost any target. Artillery, which is almost nonexistent in the ESEDF, with there being only about 3,000 personnel and 500 guns. Due to this, two more battalions are commissioned to aid in ground assaults. However, in this time, the plasma bazooka makes its first appearance.
The plasma bazooka works by simply taking a large plasma charge and firing it in a manner similar to the plasma rifle. The weapon would become a favorite amongst ESEDF armor divisions to give infantry a better edge against tanks. It also serves a crucial role as a bunker busting weapon and anti infantry weapon, allowing for progress to step up during the later part of the war. However, artillery serves a crucial part in the campaign nonetheless, an ideal example being the Battle of Tungkhali Mun’sty. During this battle, Colonel Parker of the 3rd fleet would use 75 artillery guns to force the city’s defenders into a frontal assault where they are utterly defeated, giving the city and its space port over to the ESEDF.
I must say, for the most part, you write well in that it flows and is readable. Of course it’s still structured as a synopsis or outline, but you say that is your intention at the moment. The war appears fairly complex with many aspects to the politics and social orders that cause conflict. I can’t comment too much in that regard till you flesh it out more.
But now to the science aspect.
Once again, if you want the science to be just a loose backdrop, (like Dune) most anything will work. However, in respect to a hard-science perspective, I see two problems.
“It is a binary star system with two white dwarf planets. Surprisingly, these two stars revolve around a large planet in the middle, which follows the revolution of the larger star, causing a strange tidal effect and very bizarre orbits.â€
I’m a little confused in that the 2 stars are orbiting the planet, yet the planet is following the larger star? Planets can’t be stars and White Dwarfs are dead stars and are insanely dense and generate radiation at levels millions of times too high to even begin to support life as we can imagine it. As well, the surface gravity is in the hundreds of thousands of g. But I’m assuming you may mean that a large terrestrial planet has two white dwarfs orbiting it? That also is problematic since White Dwarfs have incredible density, certainly many times higher than any planet with a surface gravity anywhere close to support a humanoid life form and also be considered the primary gravitational entity to be at the 'center' of a ternary system. But one thing to remember in saying “X is orbiting Y†Technically earth does not orbit our sun. As a matter of fact all the plants and our sun orbit a complex and shifting CG point in a our solar system. We say that the planets orbit our sun for practical purposes, but the real point of balance in our system varies inside and outside the sun’s surface depending on planetary positions.
One thing to also consider when using a using a binary star system. . .is the “goldilocks zoneâ€, the planet would constantly move in and out, so a stable, life supporting planet needs a lot of ‘explanation’ to work.
Your bomb sounds like an anti-matter bomb since you say “anti-hydrogenâ€. But I wasn’t quite clear what you meant by, “and creates a blast that channels itself down natural land formations.â€

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "nuclear fusion of hydrogen and anti-hydrogen in a nuclear format". If you mean putting hydrogen and anti-hydrogen together, that's a process caled annihilation, not nuclear fusion. When hydrogen and anti-hydrogen come into contact with each other they will both be completely obliterated and high-energy photons (gamma frequency, IIRC) will be released. Possibly some sound and light as well.
Yes, anihilation is the term I was thinking of, didn't come to me at the moment. As for chaneling itself down the natural land formations of the oculus, I am not 1--% sure on the science, the way I envisioned it in my head was just pure fantasy, a massive energy blast moving through the canyons of the oculus taking with it 1,700 Treasconi warriors and obliterating everything in sight! Anyone's opinions on any way this is possible is welcome.
With the planets BFT, thank you for the imput, which is welcome. I was not sure myself how the solar rotation would work, so here is my new idea:
There is a larger, star, similar to our sun, but a little smaller. It catches everything in its orbit. Ectoclopsys is near this star, about a Venus level amount of space away, thus giving it its heat. Then there is Octoclopsys, which is about a half between Earth-Mars distance away from the larger star, so it is little cooler but reasonably mild. Then, about a Sun-Saturn distance away is Astantisis, which is extroadinarily cold and covered in ice. the there is Elysium, the Treasconi homeworld, which is about a Sun-Pluto distance away from the first star. However, about a Sun-mid Oort cloud distance from the first star is a less dense if memory serves me red giant, formed from a star similar to our sun. This gives heat to elysium, making it similar in temerature to Greece or Italy, warm but reasonable. How's that?
i will try and post more of the war synopsis later this weekend.
Yes, a binary with the two G-type stars (smallish like ours) being >30 light hours apart would probably be stable enough to maintain planets that are .5-4 A.U. out. And far enough apart the goldilocks zone would not fluctuate too wildly.
One of the most bizarre, but possibly workable and livable systems I've ever read about, is Larry Niven's "Integral Trees". Here's a short explanation of the system;
"The story is set around a neutron star orbiting approx. 16 billion miles away (~1.8AU) from a G-type star. A gas giant (like our Jupiter) orbits the neutron star just outside its Roche limit. The neutron star strips trillions of tons gas off the planet, somewhat like the ice orbiting our Saturn. The gravity of the gas giant is sufficient to hold its atmosphere in a torus or ring. The gas torus is huge—650,000 miles thick—but 85% of it is much too thin to breath or be habitable. The central part of the gas torus, where the air is thicker, is known as the smoke ring."
Below is a top view and side view. The G-type is off to the upper right. The green haze is the torus. The blue is the habitable "smoke ring". The white dot is the neutron star. It's all way out of scale for clarity.
Next installment...getting close to the end with the general synopsis, after that it will be a series of battle descriptions, several of which are mentioned in this. However, i thhink my scaling between ESEDF forces and Treasconi forces is way mismatched, input welcome.
Octoclopsys will see some of the most famous and tragic land battles of the war. These are no better idolized than in Colonel Parker’s legendary 2052 summer offensive. During three months, May to July, Colonel Parker of the 2nd fleet took a small force, 3 companies amounting to roughly 2,300 men along with 100 artillery pieces on a mission to assault the Kh’untali Plains region. This area is defended by the feared Treasconi general Mur’turnsumn, feared in the ESEDF ranks for his victory at Zedchu, where the ESEDF took their heaviest casualties on Ectoclopsys, amounting to over 6,500. During Parkers attack, he would come to within 6 miles of Mur’turnsumn, before in a brilliant feat of strategy, would leave him instead trapped, and B lined south to Tungkali Mun’sty. Mur’turnsumn was expecting to ambush parker in a canyon on the way to a prominent Treasconi military base, but foreknowledge of the ambush allowed for parker to let his counterpart dig in to the canyon to attack, only to be left there, pinned down by air support and several of Parker’s heavy guns, unable to move and chase back after Parker. His victory at Tungkali Mun’sty secured him glory in ESEDF lore and gained a major Treasconi city. However, his force is routed and he is heavily injured when Mur’turnsumn and his army catches up with and easily crushes his force several months later, but not after several more victories for Parker.
The ESEDF military is well structured. In the four active fleets during the war, there are 80,000 men to each fleet. Note that not all are always stationed with the fleet, before the wars outset, only 25,000 are on active duty. These armies are divided into 4 legions of 20,000, which are divided into 26 companies for each legion. Each legion contains about 769 soldiers and one commanding officer, often a Major, Colonel, or Captain. These 26 companies are divided into 2 divisions, each commanded by a Brigadier General. Each army to the fleet, like the fleet itself, is command by an overall General. The first fleet is under that of Lewis McMullen, the second under William Cardiff, the third under Otto Wladyslaw, and the forth under Isamu Hoshi. Out of these four, Wladyslaw and Cardiff are the most prominent by far. The two are bitter rivals since an undisclosed event involving a dropship crash on Io, after which the two became bitter enemies. This does not seem to cause a rift in their work together however. The only possible incident is on Elysium where a flaming dispute over reinforcements is followed by an artillery bombardment on one of Wladyslaw’s main bases, whether or not it was from Cardiff is never solved.
Fighting on Octoclopsys results in huge casualties on both sides. ESEDF casualties are estimated to be around 81,000, Treasconi being higher, over7 million, including civilians. During this time, a Turinmurinto Vassal state is created by rebels in the North of the planet. All free and liberated Turinmurinto people on the planet and from Ectoclopsys travel to this area as a means of protection and to consolidate their power. This Vassal state and a similar one made on Astantisis, home to many Turinmurinto, will be of great assistance to the ESEDF in the closing days of the war along with the rebels. After the initial space battle, fighting is minimal in terms of warship to warship. However, large air battles, like that of the Inner ring, in reference to the inner ring of Octoclopsys’ debris field, become famous and widely studied by aero-space pilots in the years to come.
In May of 2053, as ESEDF forces re arm, train, and prepare themselves, preparations to invade Astantisis. Preparations take such long time due to the special ordering of special equipment to deal with the intense cold of the planet. Temperatures at the poles reach on average in winter, around -170 degrees Fahrenheit. During summer at the equator, around 30. The equilateral region is the most temperate of the planet, and is home to a wide variety of cold resistant animals and plants. The main civilian population lives here. Astantisis is a major home to the Treasconi military, well equipped to fight in the frigid and unforgiving weather. Once troops are readied, an invasion begins in late May, during the peak of summer. Due to unpredictable summer blizzards beyond the equator, only small numbers of troops are landed and suffer heavy casualties due to a lack of proper air support, their pilots ill-equipped to fight in the storms which blanket the North and South, and with ships not used to the high winds and whiteout conditions which wreak havoc on their instruments. Fighting is some of the costliest of the war, and some of most psychologically brutal. The threat of constant attack out of the snow, made worse by the abnormally deep winter of 2053-2054, near completely destroyed the morale of the ESEDF army, who are gravely outmatched and outgunned, with Treasconi forces on the planet at nearly 15 million, many routing forces from Ectoclopsys and Octoclopsys. ESEDF casualties amount to well over 100,000 during the conflict alone, many recent recruits and draft picks, who are terribly inexperienced to fight and often route, with much of the ESEDF’s well trained force and battled hardened warriors spread thin or having been killed in previous battles. Astantisis sees both the largest and most brutal space battle and most valiant land battles of the war.
The space battle is of Jaemusufey, one of Astantisis’ 3 small moons. The ESEDF had established an outpost their as a supply depot and troop transport center. On March 3rd 2054, a massive Treasconi fleet, numbering 7 fleets in total with various other support ships, began an all out assault on the ESEDF space position bolstered by recent victories on the planet. Captain Yashila, commander of the outpost prepares to defend the depot with less than a company of new recruits at her disposal. Her valiant stand, while to little avail, is inspiring to the ESEDF fleet which launches a head on assault against the Treasconi armada. The battle, in which a total of 10,000 lives are lost in total, ends in a draw, with almost 4 Treasconi fleets defeated but at the cost of several ESEDF warships and many aero-space fighters. This cripples its supply abilities. This indirectly leads to the valiant stand of Brigadier general Degrasse. Degrasse had led 4 companies South through the mountains into the equator in April to try and gain ground in better climates. He is joined by 1,500 Treasconi rebels. The force is soon however pinned down by several Treasconi divisions at the river Tourdrath. The force puts up an incredibly valiant fight, only to eventually to be overrun however simply due to superior numbers. Yet, as the camp becomes overrun, Degrasse and the Treasconi commander, Hal’Turemes, activate a chain reaction through the destruction of their command center which activates a small nuke Degrasse has smuggled from a warship. The result is the destruction of both forces, a devastating loss on the Treasconi part, losing in total 40,000 men. The story of the battle spreads quickly home where news of both these valiant stands inspires over 600,000 to enlist. These reinforcements are desperately needed, with ESEDF grounds under constant attack. Eventually, in mid 2054, the ongoing stalemate goes the ESEDF’s way with reinforcements and new aero-space fighters and tanks, a leading cause in their constant loses. Treasconi forces, their supply lines cut after the Battle of Jaemusufey, either die out, are defeated in battle, or surrender to the new, massive ESEDF army now poised to invade Elysium. Many reinforcements are sent to secure areas on previously “conquered†planets which are experiencing rebellions by Imperial loyalists and just due to general hatred to occupation. In total, a force of roughly 100,000 is raised to invade Elysium, the Treasconi capital, home to the growing crazier Kasiquanzi and about 7 million Treasconi warriors, ready to die for their king, however tyrannical he may be.
Here we go, last installment.... Hooray! I look forward to making a battle list later. the ending sets it up for the next in the series, which I am not even thinking about until I finish the first! Enjoy, feedback wanted.
In early 2056, having secured its position in the system, what remains of the ESEDF fleet, now at half its power since the wars beginning launches its invasion of Elysium. With a ground force comprising 610,000 infantry, 40,000 battle tanks, 1,600 artillery guns, and with only 3,900 aero-space fighters, they are significantly outnumbered, against the Treasconi military, comprising over 4 million infantry with 3 more million able bodied citizens to take up arms, 70,000 tanks, and 6,000 artillery pieces, they are ready to take the fight to the ESEDF invaders. Landing parties arrive in late January and immediately encounter stiff resistance. However, public unrest which had been growing since the fall of Octoclopsys builds to incredible levels, causing military forces to become spread thin to deal with rebellion. Treasconi rebel forces gain mass support to the point where even military divisions break ranks and join them. The result of this is Kasiquanzi nuking many of his own cities in hopes of forcing his will upon the populace. These war crimes meet harsh criticism from all sides.
In mid October, plans are made for a final offensive against Imperial forces. This involves the armies of all three fleets in a massive offensive against the main pocket of Imperial resistance on the continent of Mae’Zeruchi, location of the massive capital city of K’hanali Mu’rael, taking up an area of over 150 square miles. Kasiquanzi orders his entire army to hole up on the continent to prepare the invasion. The 1st and 2nd armies attack from the North West and South West, the 3rd from the east, where defenses are weaker. On the West, Mur’turnsumn, now leader of the entire Treasconi military makes his stand with a total of 1 million men under his command. His opponents are General’s McMullen and Cardiff, with a total of 425,000 men under their combined command. Cardiff sends his two Brigadiers, Chrysler and Thomson with his entire army to push towards the capital, desperate to arrive before his rival Wladyslaw. This army meets Mur’turnsumn and his massive force of 250,000 on the plain of Herimuch on October 19th. The fighting ends in a draw, with Thomson and Chrysler taking heavy casualties, their force weekend to 39,000, and Mur’turnsumn’s force being pushed down to 500,000. Emboldened by this rather Pyrrhic victory, Mur’turnsumn’s army continues its march into ESEDF territory, determined to drive Cardiff and McMullen’s armies into the sea. However, Treasconi rebel forces, along with Thomson and Chrysler’s smaller force, launch their own kind of Guerrilla warfare on Mur’turnsumn’s army as it moves towards the sea, aided by airstrikes and artillery emplacements hidden by rebel jammers. Eventually, Mur’turnsumn’s army becomes trapped on the Ich’tuchu peninsula, where Cardiff’s army, reinforced to former strength, and half of McMullen’s own force pincer assault the Imperial force. While casualties are high on the ESEDF side, Mur’turnsumn’s force in annihilated, with him himself dying while defending the center of his camp. Following the battle, Cardiff and his force make a rush for the Imperial capital, desperate to claim glory for himself.
In the East, Wladyslaw’s army moves with astonishing speed towards the capital, while still taking heavy casualties from the 150,000 Treasconi soldiers defending the area, dominated by flat plains and forests, However, Wladyslaw had 2/3 of the fleet’s artillery, allowing him to wipe out defensive positions before his infantry get there, while under heavy pressure by what remains of the Treasconi air force. Nonetheless managing to move astonishingly close to the capital by Halloween, the deadline for the month long major offensive before the forces are expected to halt and await reinforcements. Wladyslaw is 100 miles away, Cardiff and McMullen 104.
In the capital city, Kasiquanzi prepares to rally what forces he has for what he believes will be a highly successful offensive to drive the ESEDF off the continent. However, his son, Wherunquanzi plots against him. He has had constant contact with rebel forces since their inception before the war. Since then, he has been under tighter and tighter surveillance, not that his father knows, simply for his “protectionâ€. However, on Halloween, he secretly allows a rebel force of 100 elite commandos into the Imperial compound, where he fights his way into the palace before entering his father’s throne room. Upon this, he shoots his father, unopposed by his guards, who are bribed. He immediately sends a message to the rebel commander in the region, who relays it to Admiral Jacobs. On November 2nd, Wherunquanzi arrives onboard the Attila to arrange peace as the Imperial ground force is ordered to stand down, with ESEDF forces told not to fire unless fired upon.
For three days, the new emperor and the EF council, brought in for the occasion, negotiate peace. With the empire in ruins and its population and infrastructure destroyed, the Treasconi are allowed not to pay tribute for the event. However, they are forced to shrink their military to a small force until allowed otherwise, the small force assigned to keep peace with the ESEDF as the system is rebuilt. The Turinmurinto are given their own system of independent states on all four planets as retribution for the crimes they were forced to endure. Also, the Treasconi government is required to change to a parliamentary monarchy, with there still being an emperor but with reduced powers and a council of 40, at the beginning to represent the beliefs of the people. The Turinmurinto form their own republic and maintain strong ties with the ESEDF for years to come. The Treasconi republic at the war’s end is staggering smaller, around 3.8 billion by some estimates. That of the ESEDF declines by around .9 billion during the war, many casualties or those affected by Treasconi influenza, a bacterium that arrived in the Sol system with wreckage of Treasconi craft for study and high amounts of AIDS related deaths in Africa caused by the spreading of the disease in the early 2000’s which led to a massive die off later in life.
Following the war, much of the Treasconi population migrates back to the Alpha Centauri system, not heard from until 70 years later, with about 500 million staying in the system and immigrating into EF territory. However, this meets high criticism and various racial crimes against all Treasconi, even Turinmurinto until a major clamp down on violence and better education into the Treasconi lifestyle is down 10 years following the war. The end brings relative peace between the two cultures though, with each other aiding itself technologically and culturally. In 2067, the first integrated ESEDF army is created with the construction of the 6th fleet. This is widely regarded as a stepping stone in human, Treasconi relations, and will prove pivotal in the years to come.
