Not to sound pessimistic but have BZ2 tournaments ever actually happened? I remember plans for one or two many years ago but not the results.

There was one set up by Mr X, but we never actually got around to it. I doubt one will be happening for a while.

BZ2 tournaments have always been extremely difficult to coordinate, even in 2001 when there was tons of players. I don't think there will be any tournaments going on in the future of BZ2 unless the strat community grows at least twofold.

And even once we have enough brackets seem to bore people.

My personal thought is the main way to do this now that we have such a diverse group of players of a small size (MPIers and STRATers don't mix great) is to create a sort of side game that has in BZ events. Sort of like, a board game only when you get the 'pick up a card' slot what you have to do is jump into a game.

Thumbs up for BZ2 tournament idea. But it should be formal and organized. And should be avoid multiple entry of a single player even under different nicks..

Tournaments seem interesting, but I can't commit myself to play at a certain time days - weeks in advance.

I can only do tournaments in the summer.

yeah, this is basically the sort of thing that causes there to be such a hard time organising stuff, the community is all over the world, different ages, different profesions, just absolute hell.

It sounds like a good idea but orginising the time would be hard as hell because of all the different time zones of the community, but despite this problem (I would get flogged if we had a tounament) I think it would be really fun.
