GG's Edition - Final Version
Hello matesfamily, since the last topic was locked I wasn't able to edit the post and put the new download link so I decided to make a whole new topic also to clean up all the mess. There has been a bunch of updates with my mod, making it more and more balanced, and I finally got to the FINAL Update. If you have my mod already be sure to overwrite with this!

And here's a tutorial on how to make a mod work through a shortcut :

Also there is an AIP for the mod under construction but under these circumstances I will just make this a "side dish" or in other words an optional download when it gets done, as far as I know this will not cause any bad assets if you just leave it into the addon?
I will post link here when it gets finished.
Have fun

Re: GG's Edition - Final Version
I would still like to figure out why this mod allows normal bz2, without GG's edition installed, to enter the game and crash, not quite sure what it is that decides wether a game gets listed as Yellow in the servers list rather than white.
Re: GG's Edition - Final Version
Because the mod is played on stock maps and not maps made specially for the mod.

Re: GG's Edition - Final Version
No, that's not it, it may well be an issue with bz2 1.3 6.2, its supposed to do an asset check and produce a could not join, bad assets msg, it is NOT supposed to crash bz2.
Re: GG's Edition - Final Version
As long as the MAP is not different, you can still join on. It should give you an "Assets differ, join at your own risk" message, but after that you're free to join at your own risk. (I've done this with G66 games, RacePrj games, GGsE games...)
To reiterate: you can JOIN the game, but ENTERING the game will cause the bad assets crash.

The whats and hows are not important. We want the whys.M4BHoward wrote: the bad assets crash.

It crashes when it should BA? Odd.
Try to make an absolute test case.
How is this mod launched? Separate CFG or normal autoreg?

Through a shortcut that uses the CFG file (-:Nielk1 wrote:It crashes when it should BA? Odd.

Re: GG's Edition - Final Version
Ok well that tells us its still in 'full mod form'. With permission an interested party can convert it to a cleaner rec variant.

Greenheart became a christian and stopped playing "violent" Video games...
unfortunately, Doom 3 and Battlezone 2, seem to both fall under that category.
