I thought about seeing it, but I ended up seeing We Bought a Zoo instead with my family. And I didn't regret it actually. It was a wonderful, wonderful movie.

I went in expecting a cheesy boring family movie about some dumbo who buys a zoo. But It's much more than that. Say what you want (like "*lameface") but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

But anyway, I would like to see SH:GoS sometime. :)

GoS will doubtebly be an incredible film. Simply casting Stephen Fry as Mycroft does that, never mind the rest of the casting.

Also, the new TV series (no idea if it gets aired in the US, it probably does) is amazing. Looking forward to their version of The Final Problem (the only story Moriarty originally appeared in, as well as the story that killed both he and Holmes).

Yea, and I've always imagined Jeremy Clarkson as a poor man's Fry.

Conan-Doyle was looking desperately for a way to kill Holmes because he was sick of him... so he invented Moriarty. In the end, money troubles and public demand brought him back for The Hound of the Baskervilles, which compared to the others was... tripe.

I didn't mind the first movie (haven't seen the second yet) and I haven't touched Moffat's remake. I think marrying Madonna pretty much ruined Richie's career and I haven't seen a post-marriage movie he's made yet to convince me otherwise.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of the series from the 80s with Jeremy Brett as Holmes. If you haven't seen the four seasons of the series you should really check it out.

Watch Moffat's remake now, you'll love it.

Also, GoS was pretty good.

I dunno.... I have reservations. I'll check out an episode or two on netflix.

Brett set the bar pretty high in my opinion. I'm guessing Moffat isn't portraying Holmes as a drug user. That first episode where we see Holmes shooting his heroin/cocaine mixture is classic.

Not drugs in the traditional sense, but he does have three nicotine patches on at one point.

EDIT: Wait, now I made it sound ridiculous.
