Re: Portal 2
Finally played through Portal 2 and I must say it's in my top 10 of all time. I was seriously stumped only once where I was befuddled and had to quit and come back to it. The balance of difficulty is pretty much perfect. The voice acting was top notch and I had a few chuckles. I did feel like a rat in a maze alot, but I think that was the whole point.

Re: Portal 2
I got stuck once but it was because the first thing I tried was the right thing but it didn't go right.
The SP is very much story where the puzzle is just to find the one place to put the darn portal but the MP brings back the old "you can portal everything but if you get this wrong you fail" feeling of the original.

Re: Portal 2
Where I got stuck is the one in the "Reunion" chapter, where you have to retrieve the cube suspended on the platform hung by cables. Where you have the slide gel and bounce gel pipes next to each other splashing down on 2 plates. I never thought the bounce gel would shoot all the way to the inclined AND elevated platform from the inclined plate, it looked WAY too far, so it never occurred to even try it for like 15 minutes.
The game is truly genius, but I found several places where the physics you had grown accustomed to were. . .well. . . tweaked to work for the puzzle.

Re: Portal 2
best parts of it for me were the AI characters, animations, and voices. the song at the end became my theme song for the next election, too. ("...now i just want you gonnnnne."

I think 've tried it before. Can't remember.
Re: Portal 2
Seeing as this topic has been brought up anyway, I dont mind mentioning I finished the co-op campaign yesterday .. probably the best part of the game

Re: Portal 2
never tried co-op. when i saw that there was a shop where you could buy funny little hats and otherwise 'accessorize' your player, i rapidly lost interest.

Re: Portal 2
I assure you that is the exception rather than the rule.

Finished Co-op a couple of days ago. The PTI is cool, but I can't solve half the tests

Re: Portal 2
I loved P2, but I was hoping for some element of a FFA unique FPS within the online offering. Meaning. . . no weapons other than your Portal gun. . .
For example, you have several players on a map with portal plates placed strategically around the floors and ceilings to allow you to shoot at someone's feet and drop them into acid, or open a portal on a wall adjacent to another player, where the other opening is facing a group of turrets, or redirect plasma beams into another player, or drop players into inescapable areas, machinery, etc. Very few, or no totally safe areas, you'd be on the go constantly moving to avoid someone setting something up on you. With several players in free for all, it would be a constant battle of maneuvering.
I think the game play would have been crazy!

Somebody's bound to make that as a mod somewhere.
