An actual screenshot from the actual game looks better than BFT's grainy render. The texture on the tanks in the render isn't even close to what the NSDF tanks look like in BZ.

Aside from the point that spork is referring to the smaller (800x385) shot so as to not have the forum visitor have to scroll sideways 3 or 4x (right click the render and see what I named it) and also consider spork has not at all followed the history of my grizz from the BZU forum, thus has no clue at all what he's talking about. . . aside from all that, let's look at his screeny.

One reason I left the flock server is the lag-fest that is considered the norm over there. You can only imagine what is common there, if he choose that screeny to post here. Look at the pings. Three are over 300 and you can see the choo-choo train effect from disembodied black puffs all over the screen. Fix that? Nahhh, he's more into adding superfluous farkles such as the nonsensical text to his 'destroyed by' notification.

Do I miss playing there? What does it sound like.

Thank god for BZE.

But the bigger question is why spork has come out from under his rock after a year?

Actually, I think I DO know. Recently BZE has become invite only, so spork no longer has access to the BZE lobby. He used to come into the session every so often, poop a few mindless comments and leave. Never play mind you, since it's not been hacked. . .as yet. So now he's limited to this as his only outlet for his troll fix.

Making BZE invite-only seems to have been a *very* wise move. I don't have an invite and don't play BZE, btw.

If you look at the full render, you'll see the texture is actually fairly similar. Lighting accounts for the colours. Just because BZ doesn't do that doesn't mean it can't be in the render. It's art. It makes use of artistic license.

BzE is in private testing to smooth out any bugs, it will be ready for release soon.

Well, I don't think it's permanent, but it does give a nice breather from flock central casting to troll the BZE lobby.

I was referring to the larger image. It looks like crap. You're doing it wrong.

Oh no, if Spork thinks it looks ugly then it must be terrible!

Really now, Spork. Your opinion means nothing to any of us.

I highly suspect he's never used SketchUp and/or Indigo. . .or for that matter, any modeling or rendering software, so he has no idea what is "wrong" or "right". What is much more likely, like all my past experiences with him. . . he's just pulling out one of his canned statements from his troll bag.

I'm not partial to your render settings but your render in fact looks exactly how you set it to look.

What, that somebody who doesn't get the time to play often stated the obvious? No need to be like that about it.
