They're actually 2 brothers, I've heard them both in the battlezone1.com TeamSpeak. Still, they are a bit strange. :)

As I said, in hind sight, the splitting of the BZ community with two servers servers and the option of the unhacked (unhackable?) BZE mod, was a wonderful serendipitous filter, and most certainly a blessing in disguise.

I can't imagine going back to the days of dealing with individuals with social interaction development that dysfunctional and/or immature.

In an attempt to avoid future confusion, I'm going to alert you all that mrB seems to be under the misconception that this place is directly affiliated with BZe.

First let be crystal clear. . . I am not, in any way, asking for you to actually try BZE, but have you?

I have. I didn't like the no SP, the way the hull/ammo gauges looked like a clown went to town on them, the half pink sky, and screwed up cockpits textures on czar, despite all my efforts in render.cfg.

Also, there's a right and a wrong way to mod. It's something experience teaches you. Usually, a person's first mod is a random collaboration of extra units/weapons that don't really serve a purpose. As a modder becomes more experienced, they learn to truly craft a mod and mold it, only making things that serve a function.

Having a lot of extra units and weapons may seem cool to children, and fun for about 5 minutes, but it gets boring. Usually they don't FEEL like they belong. This detracts from the overall feeling of the game. The following are examples of this: X-Mod, SF mod, and, of course, BZE.

All those DM Maps with the extra ships just kind of turns me off.

To each their own, I suppose. Some of those "extra units" only ever get played on speciality maps so it's not as intrusive as you paint it.
As for your render issues - personally haven't had those issues.

The only valid point I see above is you don't like the additional maps and ships. Understandable since that is purely subjective. If we remove those from your comment, there's nothing left other than it doesn't have SP, which is indeed useful for the noobie.

However, BZE has everything BZ1.4 has as to original maps and ships, and has fixed most aspects of the stock game. And is yet to be hacked.

But, like SO many others, I'm very doubtful the game was actually tried, and is just some anecdote that was read or overheard such as the game has no SP. So it might be wise to keep it at that as other nonsense can be shown untrue, as here's two screens of the HUD where Dx supposedly, "Went to town like a clown".

If a mod would split the BzE stuff to it's own thread the children can goto town like clowns talking about how they hate something they don't play, haven't played and bad mouth while it's in an unfinished state.

As for BzE not having Single player well.. you have to actualy run the game to know that it does have it , 1 mission is done, another is 75% done and MPI was resently added for four strat maps. Also there are 16 IA missions. As far as the map pack installer goes, it's community made maps from many people. I don't restrict what map makers use on their custom maps.

Yeah, it's mostly the hud and render issues that bug me.

If only it was like BZ2 and I could just swap out a file in addon to make my hud normal again :P
