Texturing

Post by Vadam »

I've been putting this off ever since I started working on Starfleet. What I want to do is retexture a Scion pilot to have a Roton-looking texture on it, for a Roton pilot. Since right now they just use what looks identical to a Scion pilot. I want to do pretty much exactly what Red Devil did when he retextured a Hadean pilot for the Cerberi. Modeling programs are not my strong suite, so if somebody could break it down for me, that'd be great.

You can always open the roton pilot's XSI up in a hex editor (like bless) and replace all instances of a texture name with another texturename that has the same amount of letters.

The other alternative is to download the Battlezone 2 XSI Collection, take the scion pilot XSIs out of there, rename them (e.g. rspilo_rifle_skel.xsi), use a text editor to find/replace all instances of one texture name with another texture name and build them again. Keep in mind that when building XSI files that are animated, you must also include the animation XSIs (e.g. the run, crouch, jump, etc files), not just the base XSI (ie: fspilo_rifle_skel.xsi)
