yesterday i was playing a death match game against bots.
And then some dude named avalon came in and started spawn killing me.
He repplied no, we the ALMIGHTY mpi players will not listen to a useless peice of ****,
he also said you are retarded by default if you play any game mode other than mpi,
and that if i was to continue playing DM the mpi trolls would hack me
i tried to ban him twice but it did not work i pulled his ip adress from my chat log which was: 97.102.2.112
i also made a screenshot during that game

with that attitude, most probably

you can add their IP/IP's to BanList.ini in addon\config

I can't find the IP using the list of known players I have access to, but you don't need to worry; he's just spouting hyperbole. He'll cause trouble in-game and no more.

Sounds like he's one of the Anti-MPI trolls. The usual suspects are, surprisingly, beginning maturing out of it already, so this might be a new culprit.

Viktor-
You registered with a throwaway email address. Welcome to the moderation queue. Sorry, but I treat such accounts as suspicious.

BZ2 has griefers, 99% of them are actively trolling games are for a different game mode than MPI. Being a 'noob' is not in the same category as an active griefer.

Its like this, there are actually only a very small number of BZ2 griefers, but they are quite experienced at hiding their true regular player identity, they often impersonate other players, even ones they know well and play against regularly, often for no other reason than the thrill of deceiving others into thinking that they are who they seem to be. I have observed quite a few players well known to me suddenly changing ISP's for a few days... this may well be them really playing from a different address or it may not be. Specific Ip address bans are not very useful in dealing with this issue as the griefers are knowledgeable enough to change them when they want to.
There is a nice little open source program called peer block, its primary use is to block defined addresses/ranges from having any access to your pc at all, there are a whole bunch pre defined lists of parasitic/unwelcome organisations, but you can also make your own lists. So if you get Griefer problems, do a Whois on their IP, get their ISP's address range and add it to your list.
I have a little blue button on my desktop that automatically prevents anyone using a particular ISP from being in my games, I call it my Lag Bomb, It affects 3 BZ2 players that I know, 2 of them are not unwelcome, but I don't see them very often (and could simply exempt them if they showed up), The other player is The Griefer and I can lag him out of my lobby/game no matter who he is disguised as or which Ip he is using that day. After clicking the little blue button, it usually does an update, which gives you just enough time to deliver an appropriate message via bz2, It really is quite a lot of fun :). It could also be a useful test tool.
I recommend peerblock to anyone who does not want clearly deranged Knob-ends in their games.

wouldn't blocking all adresses a isp has block regular players?, i am not really an expert at this. but i believe it happens that several players have the same internet provider

Yes. But there are a lot more ISP's than BZ2 players... and you can exempt specific IP addresses within peer block, should you need to. It is an overkill response to people who claim that they "cannot be banned" What you have experienced here is very familiar to us all here, we know who does these things and why, the only mystery is the specific diagnosis of their mental illness.

I would just like to get it out there the last time I played with someone under the name of Avalon he was quite a normal player, and I am thus postulating it was someone impersonating him.
