Longest angry moment I've seen for a while. Two years and counting. Calls for Jihad, proposal to the UN that Switzerland is split between France, Germany and Italy, hostage-taking, banning Swiss visas, trade embargos...

Libya's like a stormy little kid. We are just a bigger kid that wants to take their toys, and tell them what to do.

Well there is no doubt that nations will do things to piss each other off. It's not really worth declaring war over or even saying 'thats the last straw!' -- if a military commitment is to be put forth against another nation it had better well have a darned good reason. The US didnt intervene during Sierra Leone, and they didnt do anything during the Rwandan genocide either, so why would they want to intervene against all these small oil producing countries which clearly aren't friendly to globalization?

It's their own business. Either you become the worlds policeman in full, or you keep your nose out of countries business which is clearly none of your concern (I refer of course to NATO and the middle east). How about instead of spending trillions of dollars on war (ie: Iraq, Afghanistan) spending it on science and education instead?

Simply put, the American people don't want a lot of what is going on. This president is a lot of buyer's remorse. His administration can't even keep straight what to say when 2 members are standing next to each other on the same TV program. I would not be surprised if this entire action was to either make the rebels like us or make some foreign group happy with us but only though shortsighted ideas that int he end will backfire irreparably. Then more touring the world apologizing for us.

All Iw ill say is, while I disagree with us getting involved extensively, that France was there for us.

Methinks he meant "before us," not "for us."

Didn't quite work out in Afghanistan, did it? The Base, Students and all that. Al Queda and the Taliban respectively, for those of you who don't know the Arabic translations

Or Mexico...

Maybe we should be more like Switzerland. Neutral. Period. When's the last time you heard breaking news about Switzerland? When's the last time they had a huge depression? When's the last time someone flew an airplane into their world trade center?

To be fair... the list of countries with major world financial districts is pretty small

Surround us in impenetrable mountains and then you can claim the same neutrality where nobody can bother to git you.
