1.3.6.4z2 - OPEN BETA & TESTING

Download this and unpack over your existing 1.3.6.4 install's exe. This is a quick patch that re-enables construction rig upgrades and other tweaks

If you can, please install and test this. I think that this build is about 99.9% of what I want to put into a 1.3.6.5 release. Your best chance of having bugs fixed for 1.3.6.5 is to report things on the 1.3.6.4 series. Logfiles -- battlezone.log and chatlog (if enabled) -- are useful. Otherwise, reporting things in a way that makes them happen here is best.

See the changelog for the fuller descriptions of what's changed. Since 1.3.6.4n:

- Construction rigs can upgrade once again
- Much work to make griefers less able to annoy people
- Anyone can now ban anyone at any time - if you're a client in a game, you can ban a host or another client. Anyone you've banned who's hosting a game won't show up on the list of servers. Anyone you've previously banned who is a client in a game you joined is now warned about
- CUT the 1.2-style physics craft variants. The 1.3 patch series does not encourage that monoculture of overpowered scouts. Learn to explore the tech tree.
- Tweaked session registration and browsing to hopefully work around antivirus with overactive web shields better
- Chroming of objects is now SSE-powered for greater performance
- Tracked vehicle physics ought to be more solid. BZ2's collision code is still garbage, though
- On players leaving in a teamplay game, their units are redistributed to remaining players to avoid orphanage
- Upscaled shell fonts to look less klunky at large resolutions - note that this will require mods with custom extra options pages to also be upscaled
- Ingame UI can be upscaled by a preference - see graphics options, page 2, bottom right
- Input smoothing option from Ken, also pathing system tweaks and particle render from him.
- MP escape screen chat should scroll better
- Fix for input getting stuck at edges of range

Sorry, I don't think anything changed in the pathing system between y and z. As I said before, a difference of a millimeter can make things work or not when you're trying to exploit turrets on buildings.

Why the patch replace the GamePrefs.ini?

You should have all your modified values in localprefs.ini

GSH, I dont know why, but I re-test patch y and z, and I came to the same results on different maps. (in patch y, guardians on doter still no work =)) and in patch z again earned as before.

"In-game resolution expansion" now only has the x1.0 variable (x1.5 and x2 no longer exist)

Pitch - vertical (mouse y) is still double the sensitivity of mouse x (horizontal). I have to set pitch to 50% to equal out the mouse movements. Acceleration also appears to be too high. This problem appeared a few patches ago.

Hosted an MPI where a few joined, quit, rejoined. Minimal lag noticed from resynchs. This is great!!

Your lobby server still adverts 6.4y

Blurry text chat bug still exists (where the opacity of the chat window affects the text displayed, making it illegible depending if the sky or ground is within the backdrop). Red and Blue text appear to have the opposite effect. My graphic settings are maxed on highest possible.

Yes i confirm, the 10 minutes i had play with you i would look the stats 2 times, two times i had to turn my cursor for look an hill.
But i don't will call that "blur", the text and the window is still clear.

Tested it and works like a charm. I just had to lower the hardware acceleration a bit.

The text is blurred so bad I cannot read it. Unless I move to a different background for the chat box.
Juggs, check your screen resolution.
There are 5 options: 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, and 3.0. They do not appear in the button list unless you are running a screen resolution that can support said expansion. (1024x768 is the minimum for 1.5, for instance.)
That was it (partially) .. the update reset my resolution to 640. I set back to 1080P -- now I have 3 options (x1.0 x1.5 x2.0). 2.5 and 3.0 does not appear for me. Surprised I didn't catch it, it looked very good at 640 during my testing.

Only real problem I see is the vertical mouse acceleration. Partially mitigated by setting down to 50% and leaving horizontal at 100%.

*Hold Bug Alert* Just played a few 2v2 strats with R1, vlad and tsahalis. We all experienced units not holding when ordered to do so, repeatedly, rats in particular. Have to pick a new spot or nav for it to deploy (on ancients and a couple other maps, isdf vs scion). Rats will continue to move when ordered to hold unless fired upon by enemy, but by then it's too late. :)

You cannot switch from / to full screen windowed mode while in game anymore.

Just spent several minutes trying to join Axeminister's g66 game with no luck as it doesn't tell me what version he is on. I tried installing Z2, Z, and Y. Not sure what other versions he could be running. Raknet just gives me a version of ??? which isn't the least bit useful.
