Were they chain/shad/vir?
Knowing pro-1.3 people, probably not.

Interestingly enough, I am one of these pro-1.3 people and would have chain/shad/vir, or just skip to tanks

Sometime I'd like to play a game without the ravenous competition, where you win by actually building assault units made for the job, rather than personally attacking the enemy base.

That happens quite frequently, so long as the teams are balanced and neither commander makes a fatal mistake.

1.3 is better for that style since you end up with serviced assaults rather than game winning minigun scouts cartwheeling from base to base.

I know you're reading this fulmen. And I also know that mag walker gave me a boner

It also depends on the size of the map. Some people just play Chill every single game.

I gave you that MAG Walker RELUCTANTLY. We could've ended it a lot earlier without that ****. It was hilarious though.

It's a new concept I invented and tested in that game.

The old method was playing the game. That is MPI. Play an endless battlezone 2 game online.
Another old method was winning the game. This involved taking your starting ship and clusterflubbing the other base until one of them gave first.

Using modern cutting edge science, I managed to concoct a brand new and exciting means of battlezoning: playing AND winning the game!

After years in development, I found it was possible to do both, maximizing enjoyment. You payed (hopefully) for all those pretty units and weapons in the game, might as well use them all. Except lancer.

If they were chain/shad/vir or las/shad/vir it would be fine. If it was mini/faf then its probably not worth building.

On Friday I had a fun game of ZST. We were teched to upgrade, arm and I had 50 scrap, enough for bay and enough scrap to crank out a las+empty I chose to build a chains/shad/vir full instead. Didn't regret it at all. The thug I gave it to (Sentient, I think) racked up tons of kills on the field because the enemy com was building empties and didnt have enough field control to crank out fulls without a notable penalty to his future scrap income. They managed to cancel our tech (by getting us to 1 pool as the tech was building) and delay blast tanks for nearly 10 mins by having good pool thugs but we still got to blast first. Fun game that was.

Anyways, whether to build a full or an empty is situational. You never want to build a mini/faf full and would probably be better off putting that income towards getting an arm or getting turrets if you dont have enough. Sometimes its better to make a chains/shad (or las/shad) full and other times its better to increase tech progression and just crank out an empty and weapons powerup.

No, they got us down to 1 pool while the tech was in mid-build -- effectively canceling it. We probably wouldve teched sooner but I had the con build a powergen earlier on while I was on the field and I got back to base and it was dancing.

Angels and flies is Slyifer btw. All flaming aside, he is one of the top players in BZ2. If he said it was a noob choice, it probably was.
