Found this a few years ago and just had to go looking for it again after a format (thankfully still around). This script let's you import all BZ2 .xsi models, directly into max without the need to convert first in 3DE or something (rip).
Just posting the link here in case anybody ever wants it, likely to be very useful! I did have an exporter script too but can't find that one right now..

I remember helping test Tsvetan''s original on BZ2maps/Bump N Go's site. It had issues that made me decide 3ds was easier. I'll test it and report any issues with this version.

It doesn't seem to always import UV's correctly.. which is the first thing I've noticed.
