Forum Hosting sites that support PHP and MYSQL
Hope I got the title right...
Well, its all in the title. I would like to set up a new website and have it forum based for ease of use and such, but I would like to find a host that is cheap and supports forum database and everything needed.
I know a lot of you have forums and I wondered, from your experience, which host's are good to use and cost little.
Any help would be great.

You got a domain? If all you need are forums then I can set you up.
Re: Forum Hosting sites that support PHP and MYSQL
Many hosts have an option for quick setup for forums. Try looking for that.
Re: Forum Hosting sites that support PHP and MYSQL
I must point out that if a host has a forum, it has php and mysql (or something darn close to both). That said, a 'forum host' doesn't give you raw access, they just give you the forum. The forum uses php and mysql in the background silently.

Err, there are several free places but Mysite.com and Proboards.com come to mind (I've used both), but not fully sure if they meet your needs, i.e. not sure if Mysite has forum abilities, etc. Mysite has upgrades for a low price.

Shoot me a PM, if you have a domain, I can host you on my server.

Re: Forum Hosting sites that support PHP and MYSQL
Thanks for that, I do have a domain name all set up and its directed to my profile page over at fanfiction, and the hosts people are offering are interesting,
But this form I am setting up is for private use on the writing stuff I am doing. I will have a small Battlezone section on it for mods and stuff that I have, but the main thing I am concerned about is realibability. In a good sense the form will be up forever and I will advertise my domain in the story I write or in any other means through my life and I don't want the host to suddenly dissapear like www.bzuniverse.com did... I lost a lot of online stuff because I also had a private BZscrap account too. Bad experence.
I'm still looking, but looks like Godaddy hosting looks promising.

I use Site5 as a host and GoDaddy for my domain. I have the Valentine's Special on my account to slightly lower the cost. I don;t recall the cost off hand but I have one of those fancy Unlimited* accounts.

Try Freeforums.org. It's free and supports lots of free modification tools. Your members will be able to post photos, upload files and other members can download them too. It also supports live chat and other cool tools. You can add additional forums under the main forum and make totally private forums within the original forum. I also find the forums are pretty easy to manage and change as your needs change too.Shane Ward wrote:Hope I got the title right...

I have plenty of space to host your site provided it's not a hate or porn site. How much space do you need

If possible you could maybe add file hosing? My modeling forum has this feature enabled by default so members can upload maps, images, models and other files too. Thanks.Shane Ward wrote:Yay...
