I also offer my condolences of all the nonsense that happened a couple weeks ago, but would still like to have all the threads from the old forum back. I used a lot for reference.

The only problem is that it's going to be outdated. So if there was any reference you needed from less than a year and a half ago, you're out of luck.

Re: A kind word for Cmptrwz
I was quite good at BZ1, but not so much with BZ2. My favorite thing to do with BZ2 is make maps, although I haven't released any, I just made maps that came from my imagination. It was my sandbox through my teenage years.
With all the next-gen technology out, it makes me wonder just what a Battlezone III would be like if it were made today. I still haven't lost hope in that, I think it is possible for the series to be revisited or even reimagined sometime down the road.
Has it really been 11 years since Battlezone II was released?

Oh I did the same thing I never release very many maps but the editor was always fun. Especially the really hard SP Missions. You really get to cheat using the editor in those.
Re: A kind word for Cmptrwz
Would it be possible for Wz to set up bzuniverse.com to redirect here?
Re: A kind word for Cmptrwz
He's been asked, the answer is no.
Re: A kind word for Cmptrwz
If you want BZUniverse.com back, buy it off CW.

I don't care about the domain name. I just would like to see the last. . oh. . . 6 months of active threads.PowerB wrote:If you want BZUniverse.com back, buy it off CW.
Punishing the community makes no sense.

It makes perfect sense and I don't blame him. So we lose a little bit of data, most of it was backed up elsewhere or can be recontributed. Big deal.
Re: A kind word for Cmptrwz
Part of the CW's troubles are his own fault, however none of us here are perfect either.
One important thing to remember whether you have noticed or not, BZ2 does tend to encourage violent clans and players.
The when players/clans boast of winning strat games the words are full of violence and disrespect.
So, where CW may have generated a portion of this trouble, I feel the game did the rest.
This new forum needs to set the tone of discussions, to reduce the violent attitudes and remind fans it's only a game.
Topics of violence, threats, or disrespect of any kind should immediately be locked with the explanation it's only a game.
One more thing to remember, Kids come here, they need to learn it's only a game. Kids fail to see the difference between reality and games at times.
So the choice is clear for those of you who have to moderate.
Either discourage the stuff which causes and breeds trouble or suffer with the backlash of trouble which comes with it.

Re: A kind word for Cmptrwz
There must have been a whole lot of crap going on primarily inside the BZ2 sections that I rarely read.
Because I never saw any of this craziness in the BZ1 or the off-topic sections.
But of course. . some still haven't learned their lesson even yet. . .

Perhaps not in our BZ1 section
Re: A kind word for Cmptrwz
The problem in nearly every case was nothing that CW did. Other than host 1.3 patch development. That is what caused most of the ire from whoever, not anything he personally did.
