Today, Judgement day?

Re: Today, Judgement day?
As I recall the year 2000 was biblically significant as the coming of the Christ and it's 11 years later and nothing has happened in terms of the so called, "End Times."
What up then? I personally believe in the Christ, but believe that no human being will be able to predict the Tribulation untill we're actually in to the event. Personally, I believe the time though is tied to the age of the Christ; he's was 33 when he was crucifyied on the ancient Roman cross. Considering this I believe the aproximate time will be more like 2033 then.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I recall the Bible never gives any dates? Just a bunch of number puzzles in Revelations (many of which won't work properly due to mistranslation).

Faith has nothing to do with broken words on a piece of paper
Re: Today, Judgement day?
What's this "faith" thing? I don't get it. Seems to me like it's just a bunch of people confused by a book that a bunch of guys wrote over 2000 years ago.FallenAngel wrote:You just have to have faith Ahadley.
Re: Today, Judgement day?
Faith is the belief in something that you cannot sense. Darwin had it.
Re: Today, Judgement day?
Yes, but Darwin had evidence. If even the Bible doesn't tell you when the apocalypse will be (in fact, it says "no man shall know"), then you've got to wonder how everybody suddenly knows the exact date.Clavin12 wrote:Faith is the belief in something that you cannot sense. Darwin had it.

This thread is going to go downhill fast!
Re: Today, Judgement day?
How much evidence for macroevolution did Darwin have? Also I did not claim to know the date. Those people who claim they do, do not.

I'll I will say is that faith is faith.
I personally beleive that things like Genesis should not be taken literally, that they represent certain events that we never know for sure. I am a beleiver in evolution, but that, in the beginning, like the very beginning, there is God, he who is the maker of the Heavens and Earth, not through wrods and commnads, but through the actions that occured via his single action of the creation of all existance that there is today.

I would give the audio book, "The Greatest Show On Earth" a shot. Richard Dawkins describes in detail the evidence and insight for natural selection gene-centric transitional fossils and other evidence with evolution.Clavin12 wrote:How much evidence for macroevolution did Darwin have?
