MultDMMission, MultSTMission can run Lua mission scripting and strategic AI so any DM or ST map can incorporate MPI features, not just dedicated MPI maps. ST-based MPI lacks path-based automatic spawning but Lua scripting can emulate that. (I could also add the mechanism from DM or IA.)
I set up a workable--if basic--MPI map by adding three geysers to the center of Z Snowed In and spawning an AI team Tank and Recycler on startup. I slowly feed the AI team scrap and pilots to keep it above a minimum threshold so it won't stall out. More sophisticated scripting could make the AI team more competitive but the mission takes care of itself for the most part.
