Handing out webspace on bzscrap.org

Post by squirrelof09 »

-I am offering personal space on bzscrap. If you want to host your battlezone related projects or projects for other games, shoot me a request in a PM. If I accept you (most likely will), I'll reply with FTP info you will be able to use to upload to bzscrap.org.

Just need information such as:

Username:
Password: Else, I'll randomly generate one.
Name of your personal folder: http://www.bzscrap.org/users/JohnSmith (JohnSmith would be the name of your personal folder)

I'd like to have some personal space for Battlezone: Last Stand, my short movie.
And other future movie projects. I'd put them up for download.

Okay I've replied to Ahadley and TJ in PM. I set up the FTP for you guys. I also set up submissions@bzscrap.org. You guys can read in PM how to access the email.

Okay, I'm adding the BZ1 Soundtrack to test the FTP Client.
It looks like it's working.

Wouldn't that BZ2 no-cd crack be illegal aswell?

Technically, all the no-cd crack does is let you play without the CD in the drive. It doesn't let you install without the CD (which would be illegal).

I wouldn't call it illegal to put it up.
Isn't it legal to just rip them from the game?

Ripping things for personal use is perfectly legal, how else would all the main media players get away with it?

Distribution is not.

Funny thing is, imo it is the developers (read: distributors of games on disk) that in my book do the illegal stuff.
I should be allowed to make a copy of any disk I buy, copy-protection prevents it, while that copy-protection is there to stop people who are not like me. Why o why do I have to pay for the **** other people do?

End-result is that I stopped buying disks, and the disks I do have get hacked for personal use so I no longer need the disks all the time.
(In other words, for me the whole "lets make the paying customer pay for the non-paying customers" made me into a "non-customer", kinda counterproductive I'd say :))

Anti-piracy measures and DRM only ever hurt legitimate users. The pirates will find a way around it.
