The most stable patch for FE for single player will be with the BZ2 1.2 patch and the bz2cp_full.exe file you mentioned.

Unfortunately Patch development has stopped for Battlezone II and likely all mod developers will not invest time into updating their content for that version of the game. I played your demo game. I enjoyed it! Great work! Reminds me of freelancer, a game I loved when I was younger. Would be cool to see in a multi-player co-op setup in its future!
