What is your dream instrument?

Post by Iron Maiden »

Just a little query on what you would consider your ideal instrument, if you play one.

Mine would be an Epiphone EB-3 bass, painted arctic white, black pickguard, and pearl Iron Cross inlays. It would have a wider body to more evenly distribute the weight to deal with that infernal neck dive! Double octave, MAYBE 26 frets. Mahogony body and neck with maple fretboard (Though hell that would be heavy), Chromed hardware. Lower the two humbuckers inside the body and add a second sidewinder. And for the hell of it, let's throw in a locking Floyd Rose! :D

That would be, along with expensive, awesome.

Et toi?

Yamaha custom YAS82z black :( :(
That or a Selmer Ref 54 :(

edit: oh you want details too?

I want if Ref 54 the G2 plated neck, brushed finish engraved down to the bow, tilting spatula along with old school G# trill (yeah right) a Vandoren Optimum all metal rubberized face...

I can dream.

An old bass. Like more than 100 years old. Nice and broken in.

A Gibson SG painted Maroon with Floyd Rose locking system and whammy bar.

If we were talking about spending more money than that this link would work.

Careful with that - the Speedloader had its strings discontinued recently.

Thanks for the heads up there. I read about this and Dean Markely has supposedly found a new distributor for these type of strings, but is a scary thought to not be able to buy the right strings for a nice new guitar.

You aren't going to tell us what it is? Man, you'll let guitar noobs like Iron Maiden have their way with us! With all his guitar lingo. It's our job to drown them in SAX lingo!

Want pix.

I have a sax, too. Buescher alto made in the 40s, probably. No real idea, hand-me-down from my dad, who got it used in the early 60s. Serial number puts it in the 40s, though.

I'm a keyboardist, so basically one that feels like a piano, with weighted keys. Gives me more emotion...
