Thank you GSH! I just had a strat with Sub-O and all was smooth (and one MPI prior). Sub did notice a few of my blasts did not render, no sound, yet took damage. Other than that it was a great game.

FYI - I had to disable Avast to install, just figured I'd let you know seeing others may be suspicious if they get this

So far I'm liking it GSH, much obliged.

One question, does running the game in 256 colors make it look better or worse?

Bugs I encountered

1. If you hop out of your ship, then switch to sniper, your character will randomly undeploy then deploy. I suspect the engine is arguing with itself as to whether you pilot is deployed or not. I suspect it is related to lag. It doesn't occur 100% of the time, but does occur enough to be annoying.

Bugs brought to my attention

1. IBSCUPGH.odf, points to itself, in the classlabel. Needs to be changed from ibscupgh to just ibscup.

2. The effect xsgasvehgh is called by an odf, when the effect does not exist. Haven't verified this myself, nor did the source know what odf referenced it.

I can fix the recursive odf. I guess I messed it in the CL, if it was mentioned there.

Yeah, I pretty much stopped messing with assets when GH left, granted if I had known about that bug, I would have fixed it.

Why these vertical stripes at the end of each line? They appeared in 1.3.6.4[k-z?] patch and still exist. Not a big deal but...

Why these vertical stripes at the end of each line?
Looks like newlines are showing up as a character. Not sure how/why this is different from before; probably related to the new fonts built as part of the expanded UI. What screen resolution are you running?

As to 'why', we do not have the exact TrueType font used to generate the BZ2 fonts. A similar-looking font was picked for the upscaled resolutions, introduced between 1.3.6.4 and 1.3.6.5, but they may have different characters, etc. The shell generally looks much higher quality with higher quality font sources -- BZ2 uses bitmap fonts, not TrueType. Bitmap fonts are much faster -- especially so in 1999 -- but do not upscale too much without looking blurry. To get higher quality bitmap fonts required building from a similar TrueType font to bitmap at a higher resolution.
