BZ2 1.3.6.4b patch - OPEN BETA & TESTING

Post by Axeminister »

Was playing an mpi, leiutenent-ita joined and everything was fine. We played for about twenty minutes and someone named supp joined and said he had a slow connection and might lag the game, I let him join. Then he and lieutenant-ita were forced out and I was stuck in position. l-ita joined back along with Red Devil and I never could move again. I could see the game still happening but couldn't move, the window that pops up when you press ESC kept coming on and off. I couldn't chat, I finally quit and wrote this.

Consider yourself lucky lieutenant-ita didn't grief your game like he did mine the other day.

L-ita did ask for command when I was handing him/her all kinds of stuff. Thought that was weird, I gave command up had them give me all the stuff back so I could attack and they did that. It didn't appear that l-ita was doing anything but playing the game normally.

you can grab their IP's from the battlezone log and add them to addon\BanList.ini.

Resyncs are bad on the insane AIP. It goes out of sync within a minute of launching and never recovers as far as I can tell.

Request

1. Right now a player can only receive a single attack/defend command. Would it be possible to allow a player to receive x amount, x being determined by the number of allies? It's annoying when the commander targets the bomber then another thug targets something trivial like a scav. You at that point lose the bomber.

Failing that, perhaps orders from commander could override others?

Managing paints is an important gameplay mechanic in player vs player games. Keeping the enemy 'ace' painted usually allows the weaker thugs (thugs which are not strong at dogfighting) to contribute by flanking, pool hitting, base hitting, etc without drawing undesired attention from the enemy team (or enemy ace). It would also nullify the aspect of ambushes if the entire enemy team is painted. I think it would be a bad idea to carry commando's feature request over to ST games were it to be implemented.

I've noticed that if you add the Thunderbolt to the vehicle list for players to use then I can't choose the ISDF Default scout anymore, no matter how many other ships I add to the list. If I click the ISDF Default scout it always chooses the Thunderbolt instead.

I don't even know why 'thunderbolts' are default ships. They are less maneuverable (lower accelThrust) and possess 1/3 less ammo than a default isdf scout. The only advantage they have is a slightly higher velocforward (top forward speed) over the normal scout.

Further observations regarding resyncs. I was able to join a game, already in progress, that was using Insane AIP. The Wug AIPs I have used so far have resynced when sync join was used.

thunderbolt gives you 180 range vs. 105 range, which comes in handy sometimes.

There is a /ban command -- use /help at the shell/ingame chatbox to see all commands -- but /ban lasts until you quit bzone.exe. addon\config\Banlist.ini is permanent.
